Last of A Dying Breed

Was more of a X1950 kind of guy until relatively recently. But respect where respect in due, the 8800GTX turned out to be quite something.

My 8800GTX over heated a few year backs....decided to put a heat gun to it a few weeks back and re-paste it with some arctic silver 5....runs idle at 50 and is working like a dream again

Still using an 8800gt in my computer at work, runs Maya well enough I never think about upgrading it...gaming is frowned upon at work so can't see if it can run crysis....

My 8800GTX worked fine for me, then I stuck it in the wifes machine for a year till it died last year. Great card though.

I still run an 8800GTX in one machine and 2 8800GTX SLI in my main rig. Am looking to upgrade but will wait as I play BF3 ok (on the SLI rig) and will wait till I upgrade to the i7.

Not a GTX but I had a Leadtek 8800GT with a Zalman fan (brought from Overclockers four years ago).
Loved it as it was quiet.
Still being used by an Austrian clan mate today so going well.

My girlfriend is still using my old 9800gtx+ if that counts, holding up quite well for the age of it will keep it as a spare when she gets my 560ti

Never owned a 8800GTX but I just recently sold my 2 8800GS Alpha Dog XXX cards. Obviously a bit old now but for HTPC's they are perfect. My Blu-rays looked superb and I was able to run World of Warcraft maxed with a decent frame rate :)

Meee, im still running SLI'd 8800GTXs :)

I am looking at upgrading soon but waiting for a few weeks as I am on holiday soon so no rush from this end :)

Still got a working 8800GTS 320mb in a 2nd machine I put together after upgrading my day to day machine at Xmas. Was using it in my main up until a year or so ago but then had the bright idea of buying a bluray drive and the gts didn't like the HDCP stuff so it had to be retired (well that's my excuse if any one asks) ;)

8800 - one hell of a card for it's time. Never had one, but from what I've seen it's been an amazing card to last this long. Possibly one of the best cards of all time?

8800 GTS 512 still going here, only now starting to show its age in the games I play (racing simulators mainly). Waiting for RF2/pCARS etc. to be a lot close to going gold before I decide on an upgrade, in the meantime I make do with low graphics details.

I still happily play hearts on my other comps BFG 8800GT.... Joking aside this is still a good card and happily plays most AAA games.

My laptop has a GTX260m which in reality is a 9800GT w/ 1GB VRAM and it still handles most games fine at 1680x1050 aslong as I don't go nuts with the AA. Few games I have to turn settings down a bit but many it handles at high/max settings other than DX10/11 games obviously.

One great thing about 8800gt was that it's cheap! It was quite easy to pick one up for £120 brand new. How did things move on... :(

I had a 8800GT for about 3 years and loved it. I still have the card in one of my draws, but upgraded to my current 5770 in June last year.
