Alan Wake now appears to be heading to Steam!!

What's the game like performance wise? I'm on a laptop with a relatively weak dedicated graphics card and there's no darn demo to play with.

Can't decide on this or Darkness 2, can only get one this month....

I've played this before (360) and loved it, but Darkness 2 is tempting...

Yeah I noticed that, sure it was on there yesterday - just bought directly from Steam instead.

What is your GPU? I've got a ATI 5000 series in my laptop with 1GB memory and I'm downloading from steam right now...

I suspect it will be fine on my GPU I can normally push most games to 1080 some at 1600 x 900 with the odd few having to go to 1280 x 720 only BF3 and Metro 2033 so far...

I can fully max it with the rig in my sig. I think I get 45-55fps fully maxed out, sometimes 60 in places. But this game runs like a dream on those frames. If I lower AA to 2x I can get much higher frames. But it looks and plays great maxed with the frames I get so I leave it maxed out

You have MSI Afterburner on though which looks 10x worse than the HUD :p

Looking forward to immersing myself in the world of Alan Wake this weekend. Will make a nice change from BF3 24/7. I know virtually nothing about the game so i guess ive a lot to learn.

The one thing I do find odd, his torch is in his left hand but it is set to use the right mouse button. I changed the settings so left mouse does left hand and right mouse does right hand, but then you have to use the right mouse button to select the option from the menu

Using controller, don't have these sort of problems
