AMD Catalyst™ 12.2 Pre-Certified Driver 7xxx + CAP 3

The point is you sweep once and then the damage can be permanent, some drivers will install and some wont.

I tested by installing about 6 sets of drivers, then i sweep then only 2 sets would install and the only way to fix that was system restore.
Then i did a fresh OS install and did it all again to make sure the first test was not a fluke and the same results happened.

Oh yeah I can imagine sweeper has its issues too - which is why I have a "stable" system restore point for crap like that :)

But, as an example: I can only install these drivers after a sweep. Any other kind of install (uninstall/install or install on top) leads to BSOD. Problem is, if you sweep and install these you can't overclock the cards.

Hence, I'm now back to the 11.12 RC (late January) drivers, which I can overclock :(

Working fine for me, however what's this installing in command line when first booting after install?

it's a codec, part of the drag and drop converter/OpenGL

I never uninstall older drivers or use cleaners / sweepers and have never had a problem. If you come across problems it is likely a conflict, possibly with other software.

Skyrim still doesn't work properly on crossfired 5850s here - loads of pixelated squares on screen.

Luckily single card mode works fine - if I turn shadows to low and everything else Ultra @ 1080 it plays really well with official HD pack - hopefully crossfire will be patched to work with it soon (all other games work ok :( )

Finally, super sampling for DX10/11. What a ridiculous omission that has been around for ages. The vast majority of new releases ditched DX9 ages ago so until now super sampling may as well not have existed.

I installed these for my old 4890. There was definite gains but I found a bug that keeps me from using them. I have overclocked settings in catalyst control centre but when I load up windows it doesn't load the settings straight away. If I manually open ccc the settings are applied straight away or if I leave my computer they will eventually load after 5 minutes or so. Then I see 2 icons in the taskbar. Don't know if it's just because I have an old card. Anyone else seeing similar?

Installed these exactly as suggested on the AMD site.

1. I did not see it un-installing the previous driver at any time.
2. It did not ask me to reboot.
3. CCC will not open.

It is allowing me to use AB which has apparently been a problem for some with this driver but something's not right.

edit; sorted it after a complete un-install, sweep and re-install.

terrible on skyrim for me with crossfired 5850's. massive artifacting unless AA is turned off.

then i went to uninstall and roll back drivers, uninstalled, rebooted and i lost all USB ability. luckily i had a ps2 mouse to boot to safemode and get some old 11.10 drivers on.

first set of drivers ive ever had problems with from AMD.

The Mac said:
This CAT is missing the SDK, this causes all kinds of weird behavior if you try to cleansweep/atiman to remove prior CATs.

he simplest solution is to install 12.1 for none 7xxx users or before, then install this RC right over the top allowing CAT Manager to handle uninstalling necessarily components.

This will fix the AB OC issues, as well as the GPU-Z cat reporting issue...

The only thing ive found wrong with this release is after a length of time, powerplay ignores any unlocked vcore increases, and reverts to the bios default causing GPU resets if youve upped vcore and not flashed it to the bios.

getting ridiculous this, anything about 11.10 for me is useless in skyrim, awful performance or/and artifacting all over the place with the green flashing bg. sort it out AMD

Have you done an official detailed setup ticket with AMD as most people find drivers after 11.10 to be better.

Loosing USB ability means the chipset drivers were uninstalled, you can choose custom uninstall and make sure they are not selected.

Also PSU Off cold boot would have restored USB ability.

cold boot didnt. i had a ps2 mouse nearby tho.

i went for a complete uninstall as i had to get rid of all traces of the 12 series, forgetting my usb drivers are amd heh.

like i say 12 series have no end of problems in skyrim, which is a shame as its the first group of drivers ive ever had problems from amd. it looks to be in reference to the AA application but i'll wait for 12.3 and see.

for reference i got green flashes with 12.1 and 12.2 gave me flickering blocks all over the screen which could only be turned off by turning off AA. im not saying this will happen to everyone but its certainly happening for me. no overclocks.

So your mobo does not support USB outside the OS ?
No boot from USB sticks and drives ?

You must have cycled the PSU to quickly before all the power was dissipated.
