I just bought a house!

Do the attic up and rent it out = free morgage!

I would love to be able to get a house in Leeds for that price and have 60k to put down on deposit and pay £300 a month (well, i would just rent 2 rooms and the attic out to drag in £750 - £900 a month)

Got any pics?

Well I kind of had the house, for a day lol, my offer was accepted, in writing, but then it was uncovered that the guy is in massive financial trouble, which is probably why he fled the country anyway lol

UPDATE: So I have now bought a house, significantly cheaper than the last. 3 bedrooms, massive garden, and a conservatory!

Only 95k, so with the mortgage I've got that gives me 30k to do the place up, and believe me, it needs a bit of work. Whole house needs recarpeting, kitchen needs refitting, got it cheap because an old man used to live there, he either died or went into a home because his some said he just wants to get rid of it, will post the floor plan up tomorrow.

Solicitors are now acting so I should have the keys by March!

How much is it to get a wood burning stove fitted?

Mortage signed for yesterday

£310 a month, easily affordable

Now I just want the keys!

Why does it take solicitors 6 weeks to get things done? it shouldn't take more than a week!

That's mad! We bought a new place last month... our offer was accepted before Xmas and agreed the exchange date of 20th Jan. Signed the paperwork the week before. Then on the
day I had a call from the solicitor at 11 to say the exchange was going ahead now. Forty minutes later we picked up the keys. :)

They have to do searches and other legal checks to make sure it's ok to buy.
Just don't use countrywide. Bunch of time wasting cowboys, I waited 3 months, and they sat on paperwork for days at a time, before finally getting it all together and sending it over to the mortgage company who then said the sale couldn't go ahead because of legal complications. I accept the decision, I don't accept the time it took to get everything together to go to the mortgage company. Am persuing a complaint.
