What is it? My google sky is playing up and I'm struggling to pick out what it is? Jupiter?

Too high to be Venus surely? This is viewing from SE London. Easily the brightest thing in the sky.

Depending where you are Venus will have dropped below the horizon about now - if its exactly west and very low its Venus if its a little towards the south and about (edit: currently about 12) degrees above the horizon then its Jupiter.

I'm not sure Jupiter would be that bright. That or Menkar seems to be the only thing that remotely tallies. It's bugging me. I need to know! :P

Well I was guessing geostationary satellite if not a planet but meh. Not Venus as that is below the horizon.

Looks like it tallies. Amazing how bright it is in all honesty. Wish I had a decent telescope. Any astronomers here taking photos? Please share! :)
