How do you deal with queue jumpers?

It happened to me for the first time a few months back and it really annoyed me. I was in the chemist and this ugly stupid old annoying woman had skipped me. I was pretty annoyed but wasn't sure how to approach it. She blatantly skipped me, there was no misunderstanding about it. She seen I was first in the shop and was clearly in front of her. The queues had sort of split and there wasn't a proper line as there never is in any chemist.

Anyway... Do you make a scene and say out loud to embarass her into giving you your space back? Running the risk of her saying, "no" and you having to suck it up without giving her a left hook.

It's different with small old woman (mid 50's) rough looking! Be better if it was a guy in his 20's, as you wouldn't hesitate to tell him.

OK... you get the picture! So, what do/would you have done?

How does it make you feel that a sick, 50 year old woman is more of an alpha dog than you are?

If someone blatantly queue jumps and they're not an old biddy, I'd probably say something.

It's not that I feel old biddies are allowed to queue jump, but they probably have a reason to queue jump, being so close to the grave like they are, they probably need to get as much done as possible lol

i walk aound them and go infront of them if there isnt room, when there about to serve them i say excuse me to the shop worker and explain its my turn and the person infront of me is a scumbag

Depends who it is and what mood I'm in. Generally I find other people mention it before I get a chance to, which I'm quite grateful of tbh.

I'll say something along the lines of "does queueing not exist on your planet?" or "how rude of us to be stood here queueing whilst you were pushing in - please forgive us".

Might not always get a response, but at least it makes them feel about 2 inches tall.

"Oi.... Que". With the associated pointing of arms to wherever the que starts

If its a particularly 'ard' looking geezer I might replace the "Oi"with an "ere mate"

Never say excuse me though , big risk that you lose all authority you had over your position in the que. can maybe get away with it if it's a friendly looking OAP but those buggers can be deceiving!

I'm one of the least confrontational people ever . Except in ques

Usually I don't say anything, but when I used to work in retail if I saw someone push in they got ignored fullstop. Then, when they mouth me off I would ask them if they pushed in just so I could ignore them. That would normally get them back in the queue. Oh and mothers protesting about their kids being with them got no better treatment, kids don't give you special priveleges that allow you to forget all your manners or common decency.

Doesn't bother me unless they are snide about it, then ill make an insignificant noise and hand gesture.
