please help guys my system wont boot, led starts with cpu pass the ram pass then then hangs at vga led. I tried taking card out and it still the same thing?
Tuck battery out for 5mins no go

anyone understand this error?

thanks

did you check cpu socket for any bent pins? if any are even slightly bent it can cause issues esp with the igpu built into the cpu, cant think of what else it could be,the bios that ships with the mb will be enough to get basic functions, bootup into bios screen with display ect

I have no idea what could cause this if you have tried all the things suggested. If it was me, I'd strip the system down and build it again from scratch.

Reseat the CPU paying close attention to the pins, check for case shorts as well etc since they can cause weird issues, and then just the usual stuff of making sure the cables etc are connected properly.

Failing that, I'd point the finger at the motherboard.

battery left out over night and same problem? looks like motherboard is dead, i really dont understand this led error. with no gpu in the system the vga led stays lit. no post at all

It's more likely to be the motherboard. CPUs rarely die unless you fry them with too much voltage.

Having said that, it still happens so it is possible. I guess you'll soon find out.

am hoping it the mb when i first built the system i was always getting boot device led a restart fixed this. so am sure its the mb but not 100% sure.

would this test say cpu is working ok, i tried the system with no ram and on power up ram led lit up solid red?
led lights are like having beep codes?

Shame about the board, but at least the problem was confirmed! Seem to be a few issues with asus boards at the moment.
