Hi, I have just bought a 920 and have read that the software needs to be installed before the cooler.
This would not be a problem if I was just going to change from my corsair A50 but i am waiting for the z77 mobo's and ivy bridge before installing.
So does this mean when I install my new mobo and processor I will have to reinstall my A50, install the 920's software then remove the A50 and attach the 920?

Sorry for the long question but it will be a pain if i have to do the above.

Any advise would be very much appriciated. Thanks
 
I wouldn't have thought so, would presume the 920 software is based around controlling fan/pump speed. With no software its likely to run both at full tilt.

If you think about it, the machine and cooler has to boot to windows without the software...
 
i dont think so, the 920 will work without the software, it isnt like the pump wont function without the software installed (if your machine bluescreened, the pump would stop as well :confused::confused:)

anyway, install the 920 on the new mobo and then install software - no issue whatsoever :)
 
It works without the software, otherwise how do you fit it to a new build and install windows?:)
