My first "real painting on canvas" - got a fair few in this style.

X_Wing_by_DarkElmarko.jpg

Star wars... yeah, sad I know.

Heroes_Bennet_by_DarkElmarko.jpg

That Heroes painting, thought it was cool the style - so did a version of it.

Spock_by_DarkElmarko.jpg

Star trek, again ... sad I know - thought I'd try a portrait as been practising them.

Caprica_6_by_DarkElmarko.jpg

An odd cartoon style Caprica 6.

Darth_Maul_v3_by_DarkElmarko.jpg

My fav star wars one I've done so far.

Half of those were done with a mouse, the other with a wacom tablet - signatures are hard with a mouse :/

Look great mate :) Only thing I'd say about the x-wing is I'd like to see a tad more red on it! If you did that, I'd proudly have that printed out accompanying my massive collection of Star Wars Lego xD

Hehehe - thanks, well that one was one of my first digital paintings - used to never do colour at all until recently - did the first x-wing, cut it out - copied it twice (for the ones in the background) then added motion blue.

Digital is easier in a way, so much you can do to save time.

Really need to get back into my painting/digital art - would love to improve on it, also wouldn't mind working in a more creative field, as fun as predictive modelling/data mining/programming is..., I miss my more creative pursuits (playing guitar/piano & painting & drawing).

Got offered a intuos 4 medium for £150. Good price?

Didn't want to spend that much on first tablet though.

Barely used.
It's normally about £250/300 IIRC, so not a bad price.

I've been using a Wacom Cintiq 12" for the last year odd, a great bit of kit but pretty expensive - I really need to use it more for the price I paid - but I'd go for a lower model first, I started with a Bamboo.

Yeah that's a pretty decent price, the Intuos 4 are great units, Wacoms current range offer the best tech on the market.

Also got some more Life drawing to share with images ranging from between 5 mins to 40 mins. All were done with either a 'B' or '2B' pencil.

Nice meekon, I used to call my brother 'Mekon Head' when we were younger as his proportions at the time were very head heavy ^^

Just started modelling myself using my latest orthographic

Creating a bash mesh to then export to Z-Brush and sculpt.

The base mesh you will want it to be more or less equally quaded for Zbrush so it sub divides evenly. Like on this link:

If you're planning on doing this later fair enough but right now you have a few un even quads.

I haven't used Zbrush for about a year so not sure if the new one's are different:

Ye they should be all quads when the base mesh is done. We're following a set of tutorials which the tutor has created, this is basically the first stage(which does include 4, 3 sided polys) but according to him they get edited out later, I'll be doing some more later probably, I'll post it if I do!

Anyone use a trust tablet? Keep getting out bid at the last second on the bay. Trust tablets although wont be as good as Wacom come at a nicer price to try out digital art. But are they fine enough for detailed drawing?

Done a bit of speed landscape sketching today:

/Edit in a couple more hours:

Looking good fella, I've not had a great deal of time in Photoshop over the last couple of days... well I've done some textures for assets for a group assignment but thats about it. I had an hour to spare this morning and churned out the following:
