suzi, john, ortis sacked from gadget show

Is this that really awful show where they sat around the table at Chan5 and go... "right we need our own Top Gear... but with gadgets!". I sat through about one episode, it is dire.
 
did they once do a show about rc helis lol? i was reading a thread on an rcheli forum and everyone was raging about how stupid the show is for making them look like toys that dont need any safety concerns at all..

when in reality they are more like flying chainsaws
 
Yes, I seem to recall they started off with a stabilised trainer heli indoors, then as soon as they had got it a foot of the ground for a few seconds they ditched it and thought they had earned their wings.

So off they went and tested them on a piece of shoreline(!) and wondered why they were hard to control and even lost one of the test models to the waves.

not certain if they'll be doing tgs live either, I mean why would you if you've just been sacked!

suzi and john were the backbone of the show and ortis was a great character....

I've watched the gadget show a few times and the show is awful. Nothing more than a glorified technology advert. The reviews are watered down and bland, and i'll bet my life savings they get paid to review the products by the companys.

Good to get rid of them as I felt they were just cliche window dressing. One black, one female and one business type.

The bald headed guy is alright. I remember he had a gadget show on BSB when it first launched in the 90s before it merged with sky, anyone remember it? That show was awesome. It was on late at night and filmed from a basement. It was a very budget show just him and a cameraman and he got lots of freedom to show and do what he wants.

How to make a gadget show I would watch:
Bunch of nerds making stuff such as robots, cars, planes, boats, computers.
No silly challenges, just them getting a task and doing it.
Sort of like mythbusters but more techy.
 
Its been kak for years anyway. Hmm lets run over this usb stick with a tank, ach it broke, only 2 "Gs" there then

Stupid challenges put me off aswell

Their review and testing of products is woeful, LOVE LOVE LOVE Apple, it always wins no matter what its up against. Seem scared of Android

BF3 sim though! :D

Is a bit of a shame as they did all seem to have a good rapport with each other and worked well together.

Not fussed though as I quite like Polly :) (sorry to the Suzi lovers out there)
 
Meh, it was alright. I used to have it on in the background and enter the competition.

Maybe the new format will be better? Who knows.
 
I don't know why they ever had to change the theme tune either. It was instantly recognisable.
 
Lets be honest it's an entertainment show rather than a true technology show. It's good to changes things around everyone once in a while.
