Baldur's Gate is to make its return after an eight-year absence, it has been revealed.

A new Baldur's Gate website has launched featuring the series' classic logo and the theme tune from the 1998 original.




The website also features the following quote from the wise Alaundo: "The Lord of Murder shall perish, but in his doom he shall spawn a score of mortal progeny, chaos will be sown by their passage."

Beamdog, a development studio made up of ex-BioWare staff, is behind the new Baldur's Gate title, having also worked on the WiiWare port of MDK 2.

Promising a full announcement soon, Beamdog's Trent Oster did confirm that the game is not related to the upcoming Baldur's Gate Steam complete edition.

The last Baldur's Gate title was 2004 release Dark Alliance II.

www.baldursgate.com is the site they mention. i was worried it was just about the steam announcement until i read they had confirmed it wasn't. please be a PC title and not another console run. i will give any children i ever have.

No it's about both, the original title was steam related but as time went on both were being talked about..

There is, because the other thread is titled "Baldurs Gate - Coming to Steam" now, if I was to search the forum for baldur's gate in attempt to find a discussion about the up and coming new game, where would I go?

To the discussion about the original coming on steam, or this thread? Remember I like many people am not clairvoyant so I have no idea the steam thread discusses the new game.

The only thing keeping this thread alive now is this pointless discussion whether it should be allowed to create more than one thread on each game or not.

Besides, your thread was specifically about Baldur's Gate re-release on Steam and not about Baldur's Gate III (AAA - sic!) which is an entirely new title in the works.

No offence Neil but you have no case here.
