Make Bradford British TV Program

I worked with an Egyptian guy offshore who prayed about 8 times a day in a 12h shift. Its entirely possible. Made me smirk too as he always had a dirty patch on his forehead.

Pretty sure he would be proud of that mark on his forehead, shows how devout they are.

Close? :p :D

and was constantly asked what I was doing there and people wanting to fight me for absolutely no reason. These people where always typical rude boi asian daddys money boys..

Dude i am as brown as them lot (asian but of Caribbean background) and get asked the same questions as i stick out like a sore thumb because i don't walk dress or talk like them, don't take it too personally/racially :D I hate going there as much as you do if not more.

No but seriously, I don't understand how anyone can believe that their maker expects them to commute to and from a place of worship five times a day. How is anyone expected to have any kind of a career if they are constantly counting down the minutes until they need to jump in the car for a bit of worship down the local Mosque.

You can pray anywhere, he doesn't have to keep going to the mosque.

It is funny how people in Bradford got on with each other until immigrants arrived, same with the Oldham and the riots in 2001, sorry but multiculturalism has failed, I have seen it first hand and even world leaders have said its failed, now we have to deal with all the fall out. Hate preachers, youngsters being brain washed into blowing people up on buses and trains.

I disagree, Wembley is multicultural an everyone gets along, i've lived there my whole life.

What everyone? Really? I doubt that tbh, it sounds like a rose tinted interpretation of reality to me. My brother lived in Wembly and it was never the multicultural bed of roses you speak of.

Maybe it's just a problem with northerners? It's normally northerners who live in some hole like Wigan who post in these kind of threads.

Intradasting....

I know most of the local asians in glasgow routinely refer to the pale faces as goras but also take offense to being called Pakis.

I dont mind when people call me Scots nor do Australians mind being called Aussies (well the ones I know dont anyway).

This is the whole point of my thread, thankyou :)

I'm a Team Leader at Nissan UK. If something happens at work and we need to drag someone into the office for whatever reason then this is what happens ...

Now this is going to sound terrible but if they are white then it will be a one on one with a supervisor. If the fella is 'non white' then it's a supervisor with a manager in attendance in case anything happens or is accused of in the future.

The year is 2012 and this is what happens at the UK's biggest car plant.

Yes because everyone knows back in the day people used to go Scot and Aussie bashing, nevermind all of the graffiti etc.. saying 'Scot' or 'Aussie' go home.

The comparison of packi and Aussie are completely different, or at least may be offered in the same way, but can be interpreted as VERY different. Mostly because half the people being called ****'s aren't from Pakistan, but also because there are historical racial and negative emotions attached to it.

Take ******. Its origins were that of describing "dark" or black, and so has historically been used for describing paints etc. Clearly not a pejorative in its origins, but the modern connotation is certainly not accepted.

**** is no different to that, and in my opinion if there is a risk of causing offence for saying it, use one of the other equally descriptive words that don't have negative connotations - not sure whats so hard about that?

regarding the show, i felt the most open, sensible and decent person was Rashid - what a really nice guy!

Gora isn't an offensive term. It simply means white/fair skinned person.

You find it odd that an Asian person is offended when being called a ****? Asia is huge, not everyone from there is from Pakistan but the term **** is known to be a racial slur (I guess grouping all Asains as Pakis further proves this).

Try calling a Scotish person, Irish. Or an Irishman an Englishman. Or an Aussie a Kiwi.

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSHHHHHHH!!!!!

So you've never heard of a racially motivated attack by a group of non-whites?
