Terra Nova

They needed to pull the "Lost" style reveal a few episodes before the finale really and throw in a few more hints. Should have bumped the figures up a bit.

Think of all the series that would never of been made in the past if the figures didn't add up after a few episodes. Star Trek is one of the largest. The original ones had poor figures, and nearly got canned a few times. Its nothing but short sightedness. It needed another season, even another half a dozen would have done!

As much as it's a shame to see it go after all the hype, sadly, just like Falling Skies, it turned out to be just another "family drama" in a new setting with not enough of either to satisfy either type of viewer (sci-fi types said not enough sci-fi & drama types said too much sci-fi etc) and it seemed like the budget was mostly blown on the Set and location shooting as it wasn't spent on script development or CGI.

Disappointing I liked it, just like SGU.
I blame the advertising, they advertise stuff like classic SCIFI, but it's not (which is a good thing) so classic SCIFi people don't like it, but other people don't watch it becuase they think it's to SCIFI like.

I just hope Netflix continues to grow and continues to buy series.

Problem with this show was the target audience. Trying to make a show with such a story "family friendly" is asking for trouble. If you think back to when you were growing up, did you want to watch family friendly movies and tv shows or did you want to watch the 15 and 18 restricted movies? Of course to make successful show with a story like that you have to target the older audiences but not make it too difficult to understand or too gory or sexual that parents would not allow their children to watch, even if it gets a 13 or 16 restriction.

Take the same story but lose the family, add more gore and more action and make it more gritty and you could have a good show.

I didn't mind it, I'd like to see another season so I hope it's shopped over to another network.

The question I have though, does this benefit Fringe or give us hope that should the worse happen that too can be shopped? God I hope it gets renewed!

While this wasn't great, this is still a shame.

New scifi doesn't get a chance to get going. However, it's also pretty poorly written and seems to try to be something it shouldn't.

TV is a waste of time at the moment!

I can't say I enjoyed it overly much but it did seem to be picking up a bit towards the end of the series, as opposed to Falling Skies which was just drivel throughout (how did that ever get renewed for a 2nd series?).

Glad it's been cancelled, had it been renewed I might have thought "maybe i'm missing something" and perhaps subjected myself to the entire series. I got to episode 5 and gave up.

This joins SGU and Falling Skies in the last few years of sci-fi hype and ensuing letdown!
