Starhawk Thread (OCUK PSN Group?)

Hey there!

I was just wondering if anyone is playing/enjoying the beta and if so would maybe like to form up a small group of users to get together and enjoy the beta as it gets closer to release!

I must say to start with i thought the beta was a bit hectic however now ive got used to the building and flying etc it seems very unique however it screams team play and atm im just playing solo on ctf/tdm and i feel it may be a completely different experience played as a team on headsets and so on!

there's another beta patch on the way 1.3, which adds a lot of tweaks etc and also a 32 player map and new vehicle!

so if no one has played the beta or was feeling like I was when I first began, give it time, and maybe we could play some custom games some time!

I dont know if theres aload of interest on this game here, however if it becomes popular maybe we can make this the official thread (as the search didnt bring one up) and ill re-write the op to make more sense

Keep them coming guys! if we get 6-8 that will make a team! 12-16 could make awesome custom matches!

Once the list is full of active players or once the actual game is released, we could start doing certain nights where we get on and have a social play or competative

my mic so i have been told is incredibly clear, but my accent isn't

i think its now a completely open beta available for all on psn store! it was plus only but now should be able to get it without

shame really as you do need a "team" to play this game, it was the downfall of the original for me, no team to play with so it never got much play.

ideally we would need quite a few regulars since it supports up to 16 v 16

I always have a laugh myself on this. CTF and just wall in your teams flag and build turrets etc

the patch is taking forever to download, im on a 50MB connection, after 15-20 minutes and its on 5%

edit: been like over an hour now and it's on 35%

the game is really interesting, but i fear too complicated for it to be a hit.

its not a fps game, it's more strategy and fps combined but then you have the inclusion of hybrid jets and buggies.

stealth is impossible unless your lucky, also can you reclaim enemy building or just your own teams?

i feel some people may sabotage their own team just for kicks, much like some people used to team kill, etc in some games, by reclaiming buildings.

i also feel the game doesn't really work on console too well, it's essentially a pc game, very well made i must say, huge maps and lots of thought been put into it, but it just has too much going on imo.

will give it some more time, but i doubt it will grow on me, i prefer pick up and play games like mw3, fifa, etc.

Well its a third person shooter with a unique twist that does require team play so if we can get a few groups going it could be quite rewarding! The clan system also seems promising

this is why i think it will fail, team games dont really work on the ps3, hardly anyone has mics and hardly anyone on here plays them.

ideally since this is a 16 v 16 game, we would need 20-30 regulars, so that you always have enough on to make teamwork a possibility.

because if we manage to get 10 regulars the chances of them all being on at the same time is going to be nil, therefore ideally you would get maybe 5 on at a time max, which isn't enough imo.

therefore this game would suit pc a lot more or even the 360, because there is much more of a larger community and easier to form groups, etc.

Yea i see what u are saying but hopefully small squads in a team could make a difference too, though a full 16 player team cooperating would be amazing but as u say near impossible!
