Anybody else detest Holidays?

For me, going on Holiday is a chore. The airport hassle/getting to the airport. The packing.

Then you have flying and the constant turbulance and ear popping. Then you have to get to your hotel/villa. I just find the whole thing a stress and even if we holiday in the UK I hate it.

I do holidays every year but only because the wife likes them, else I wouldn't bother.

Anybody else like me and why?
 
I hate holidays with my family, but if they are spent on my own or with friends, I am a happy chappy. :)

Hell no. I normally think it will be stressful but in reality never is.

Holidays are AWESOME, especially if they are roadtripping in the USA.
 
Don't worry in a few years when the UK goes the way of Greece, nobody will be able to afford holidays and you won't have to worry about it.
 
I agree.

I dont mind packing up the car and heading off somewhere within a few hours drive for a few days, but foreign holidays do nothing for me.

This is my point, if you are doing something you hate over and over why not change to do something else? Go camping in the UK, go on a cruise? Go on a skiing holiday do something else? anything else lol.

I purposely choose holidays and destinations that involve nothing but relaxation. I adore warm climates, beautiful sea views and roads with bare minimum cars. It's my dream lifestyle so no, every year I weep inside when I have to come home.

I suppose it's different when/if you have kids.
 
Well I think holidays have become more stressful, in fact more stressful than staying a work.
One has to get every thing up to date and then I worry work while I am away, then when I get back I have to catch up,...arrrrrrr ! !
I remember when going on holiday the joy started at the airport. It was just one big adventure. Now it is one big head ache with security, liquids, cabin baggage, duty free not really a bargin. Just one big money machine to rip you off ¡

So now I book every thing my self and do not use a travel agent at all. I save so much money and I do not fly at stupid times and arrive at the hotel at 1am in the morning ! !
 
I'm the same, although now the worry over money would even stop me enjoying a day trip to Skegness at the moment.

If I ever met one of those dumb as poo TSA guys who believe I'm literally intending on 'destroying America', then I would probably push his stupid face through a wall :(

If I was rich enough to drop £2K on a holiday then I would probably enjoy it.
At least I've been to Africa :)

This to be honest.

I love holidays, you pay someone else to do everything for you..
All I have to do is pack my shorts and make sure I'm at the bus station at the right time and the rest is history.
What's difficult about it?
Book everything online, check in online.. Sit down, relax, shop, eat, drink, get a sun tan..
 
Hoilday use to great fun now I think it is just stressful !

Flying should be quick not all this security nonense which can not stop terrorists as recent years have proved.
I would like a return to a more relaxing pleasureable experience at airports.

TBH, I love going away and visiting new places it is just work I need to stop worrying about ! !
