premium rate phone line

Op, I think you should get the point that no one here has set a premium rate number up for support as everyone agrees they scream 'con' and/or portray bad service......in their opinion.

I believe this is the basis of a good forum.....advice and opinion.

You obviously don't like any that you're getting as you seem to want to report anyone who gives it.

Really market testing / analysis, is not the purpose of this thread,

I treat those who I belive to try and 'troll' me firmly , I make no apologise for this and think the intraweebs would be a better place if more people stood upto these bully types frankly.

As you made a point I will clarify why I think EVERY post so far in this thread could be classified OT. I hope my postion is now clearer to everyone in this.

Thanks

A.

Finally guys thank you a little useful input

Much appreciated

Still not sure the vitriolic comments are entirely neccasery but hell some folks are just like that :D

Not bothered to read much of the thread since my last post as u went childish and started reporting :S ( Seriously ?? )

But out of interest what will your premium rate number do/sell/support?

Also while good linkage is important RL problems and pitfalls are still of interest to me from those with experience

People like me who will use say no to 0870 and find your landline/mobile, Using charge back services or Free voip services. U might have problems

I have added to my post above for your latest question. And i am now assuming its some sorta adult based business or something you should keep away from GD to avoid embarrassment

I hope you have a backup plan or a substantial amount of savings.

Your feigning concern for me now I assume, or do you usually turn from hostile to emphatic so quickly?

Also a lot of these sites are sevices offering to set up the system for you I'm more interested in the guts of the system , the tech and procedures involved in actually setting it up.

First of all you're arrogant and rude.
Second of all learn to multi-quote!

This forum is built up due to people voicing opinions when being asked for advice. Don't like find a new forum. There's was an amazing thread about how many replies does it take to answer a question on overclockers. Sadly I can't find it.

I also think you need to learn what troll is and I see no form of bullying in this thread, apart from that coming from yourself as a hostility towards the other posters.

edit: found it:

How many forum members does it take to change a light bulb?

1 to change the light bulb and 1 to post that the light bulb has
beenchanged

14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the
light
bulb could have been changed differently

7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs

27 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light
bulbs

53 to flame the spell checkers

41 to correct spelling/grammar flames

6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb"

... another 6 to condemn those 6 as anal-retentive

2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is
"lamp"

15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that
"light bulb"is perfectly correct

156 to email the participant's ISPs complaining that they are in
violation of their "acceptable use policy"

109 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please
take this discussion to a lightbulb forum

203 to demand that cross posting to hardware forum, off-topic forum,
and lightbulb forum about changing light bulbs be stopped

111 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use
light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum

306 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where
to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for
this technique and what brands are faulty

27 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs

14 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the
corrected URL's

3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant
to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group

33 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including
all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"

12 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they
cannot handle the light bulb controversy

19 to quote the "Me too's" to say "Me three"

4 to suggest that posters request the light bulb FAQ

44 to ask what is a "FAQ"

4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

143 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions
about light bulbs"

1 new forum member to respond to the original post 6 months from now
and start it all over again

This applies to this scenario.

If you really want to be so pedantic about calling people a troll you are infact one yourself.

Wikipedia said:
In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[3] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion

The above post of saying you reported me was designed to provoke an emotional response, no doubt by trying to get me angry or upset that you reported me. You've also done this to couple of other posters in this topic.

You have yourself "disrupted normal on-topic discussion" but of course the topic of conversion has changed to one of being on-topic about how this forum operates with posters, so could be argued it is now "on topic" due to the "natural" flow of discussion.

Of course by pointing out the above have I also been a "troll" by "disrupting the normal on-topic discussion" or is this how the flow of discussion has moved onto by discussing people's actions and motives on a forum?

If it's for a product or service you provide I think if you want to do a premium line tech support you really need to give other options, like Web chat tech support and e-mail tech support both as free options. More incentive to buy from you for free assistance, if I had the option of 2 places to buy similar products or services, 1 had free support and 1 only had the option of a premium rate line if I needed help, I'd obviously go for the 1 with free support.

What kind of service you planning to start up? Pasty Smashers UK? :D

"heeey....welcome to pasty smashers! £1.99 a minute! sooo baby what are you weari... whats that? No... no we dont sell pasties... what? Oh its just a internet sex reference .... no... no sorry ... well I'd suggest going to Greggs then. Bye"
Damn, £1.99 a minute, the most I can stretch to is £1.53 a minute and even that is pushing it... :p
