Does anyone else think that Mcdonalds burgers are smaller than they used to be?

I thought that it was as i was getting older they just appeared smaller but they appeared to have been made smaller within the last few years. I was in egypt and the quarter pounder with cheese was literally twice the size of the UK quarter pounder with cheese. How could it be possible that burger which is named after its weight is different sizes in different countries?

Is mcdonalds just ripping the British off cause they don't complain ? Does anyone else think the burgers have been getting smaller and smaller?

I just bought a quarter pounder deluxe thinking it would be the size of big tasty and it was the size of cheeseburger and it was definitely not worth it, they also squeezed the fries and i had half a box of fries. Mcdonalds is going down hill, i don't know why people still buy it, becoming over priced and not worth it.

They are just trying to follow the mobile phone trend. Don't worry soon they will start to become bigger again but just a lot thinner and have bluetooth.

I usually don't feel the need to complain if I get half a box of fries or whatever because at least it means I'm eating less of the crap lol.

I do agree about the burgers though, I'm sure they don't weigh quarter of a pound.

Everything gets smaller, Shave off a few grams, mm or ml here and there reduces costs and increases profits.

I used to buy frozen sweetcorn as fishing bait. 1Kg packs then it was 990g packs now its 950g packs... No one notices it and the price still goes up.

Made me think of this classic scene from "Falling Down". I mean why do the burgers look like squashed bits of rubber and not bulging with lovely fresh lettuce like the pictures...

the uncooked weight is 1/4lb, once all the water is evaporated out through cooking they will weigh considerably less. Note their is a footnote on their menu boards that states uncooked weight, otherwise they would have the standard agency on their asses

Never noticed the burgers were smaller at McDonald's but I've noticed the same tendency with things like chips or cookies. The box remains the same but they put less inside. That's the modern marketing.

Recently lost 4 stone so the really good thing is my Quarter pounder, double chips and McNuggets is now large fries and a hamburger :-)

I dont mind the smaller burgers as I hate wasting food.

LOL everytime a maccy d's thread starts I think the same thing!

I hate the place! I only go in there because my kids will drag me in and I always try and bribe them with an alternative like Subway or Greggs... dont always work tho :( lol.

Oh and yes the burgers are getting smaller! I ask for a big mac and get this limp little thing in a bit of bread. It is better to get the delhi-of-the-day imho, at least it will be chicken and taste somewhat like food.

I've never known why McDonalds is so popular anyway, the burgers look like ****, taste like **** and probably have the same nutritional value as ****.

But yea, the last one I saw looked tiny....the rare times I have a fast food burger, Burger King all the way :p

McDonnalds have shrunk the 1/4 pounder, they also don't do the "have it your way" thing so there's no way to actually get more gherkins
