If this was in the UK and the other way around it would have been a hate crime and we would have seen on the front page of every newspaper, racist murder etc.
He was a self elected neighbourhood watchman. He failed to get into the Police but clearly still wanted to be one.
George Zimmerman had made almost 50 previous 911 calls in the past year. He was clearly paranoid and in his own mind believed anyone just walking by must be some kind of criminal.
Whilst on the phone with a 911 dispatcher, the dispatcher told Zimmerman not to run after the "suspect", Zimmerman ignored this order and chased after him.
Zimmerman says "They always get away, ****ing coons".
A scream of Trayvon can be heard on the phone, backed up by witness testimony.
The 200lb+ Zimmerman shoots the unarmed 140lb Trayvon, claiming he felt threatened, despite the fact that Zimmerman was chasing Trayvon, with a gun, not the other way around.
The Police then failed to investigate properly.

Don't forget his lawyer claimed he was injured and had a broken nose despite a police video shortly after the incident (must admit it is a little grainy) showed him with what *seems* to be no blood, cuts, bruises or a broken nose.
Don't forget that Zimmerman lived on a gated estate, maybe it was close to a bad area which is why he'd raised so many calls. I believe that residents on such estates have a lot of power, if Zimmerman was making a nuisance of himself to the residents I'm sure they'd have put a stop to it. Why was Martin walking through a gated estate, trespassing as I understand it.
I didn't think "****" was a racist insult in the USA, only the UK.
Not sure what Zimmerman being obese has to do with anything? How do you know the police didn't investigate properly?
Have you seen any recent pictures of Trayvon Martin? Not the ones of him an innocent young boy but rather the recent ones? If he didn't want to be suspected of anything why choose to look like a criminal?
He was visiting a house on the estate. And the residents can't force Zimmerman to stop making phone calls, even if they wanted to.
Well now you know. Not that it ultimately matters, the racist aspect of this is minor compared to the murder and police incompetence.
Zimmerman claims he felt threatened. A 200lb+ man with a gun, chasing the 140lb guy, who do you think was the real threat in this case?

There are witnesses that say that zimmerman was shouting for help and there are witnesses that say that martin cryed for help.
The district attorney told the cops to release zimmerman with out charge. And the pics you see of them both are from years ago and I can't see this going to trial.

The story I read was they became lost after they voluntarily took a ride to the ghetto with a random shady "youth".

I see these crackheads all the time, literally every day. A defenceless, unarmed kid gets murdered by a man and that's your thought process? What kind of person empathises with murder in this context?
The kid could have been punching the guy in the face calling him a cracker for all I care, he killed him. Ended his life. That man removed another person, one whom had the rest of his life to live, from the face of existence. And for what? Oh it's fine because he 'didn't look innocent'.
There's playing devil's advocate and then there's being a psychopath, I'm not sure which you're aiming for.
What's moronic is people pre-judging this case without being in possession of the facts that the authorities in Florida had access to. I mistrust anything that "goes viral" via Facebook, loads of people have egg on their face from that Kony 2012 thing - you'd think they'd have learnt.
It's not psychopathy, its blatant racism instilled in some privileged idiots in this country.
This same thought process leads people to think "oh she was wearing a skirt, well she was asking to get raped then, her own fault!"
It's disgusting and the fact that the mods here don't regulate against it is going to end in a Stonewall style lawsuit eventually. I got suspended for 2 days for calling someone racist... who was complaining about Muslims being in this country and saying Hitler was right.

I think you'll find that Zimmerman claims he shot Martin in self defence, which is perfectly legal in Florida and elsewhere.
