Everyone's favourite newspaper has reported on a 'worrying' trend of teenagers being real life Barbies. Also, anime.

The DM can't really work out who to blame. It's probably anime but no, it might be youtube or facebook or wait, it could be those pesky Asians with their penchant for 'big eyes and long straight hair'.

To ensure that we can be just as outraged as the DM appears to be they've helpfully filled the article with image after image of the girl they believe could 'encourage the sexualisation of children'. Thoughtful, I'm sure you'll all agree.

So anyway, I think it's all a lot of rubbish - they even use a Bolivian newspaper as a 'source' - but anime, the Daily Mail and the internet all in one gloriously tacky, lewd package was too much for me to pass up.

Anime goons, get those wrists limbered up

This is incredible.
That article doesn't even pass basic journalistic standards.

Little is known about...... Thus we shall infer something instead of investigating the facts, in fact we just made it up.

Some sources have suggested...... I asked my granny what she though, or well I would have, but my phone had low battery, so I just made it up.

Online mail isn't covered by any code of practice is it?

Ok they look a bit weird, and the amount of makeup being used will probably cause a world shortage but ...

There not hurting anyone, and its far from sexualising themselves. Quite the opposite, they look a lot more modest than the average 14 year old in England.

How is dress up like a (normal) doll turning girls into sex icons?
If this is turning girls into sex icons then todays "popstars" are turning them into crack den hookers

From the linked article:

"Some commentators have suggested the doll-like girls could encourage the sexualisation of children"

So who are these commentators, the cleaners at the DM offices, Mumsnet, someone the reported met down the pub? And what did they actually say?

This is weak even for that towering stalwart of journalistic prowess which is the Daily Mail ...

I've had to quit reading DM at work as my rants are becoming an issue.

In my opinion DM is bang out of order and should be held to account on quite a few of it's articles!

No, anime is a valid form of artistic expression. IT IS NOT JUST CARTOONS. You're Western so you just wouldn't understand.

I just don"t want to die at the hands of some animated necro-demon with 10,000 penises......at least not this week.
