A good example of what rev-banging is are the top A class Trueno and B class 79 Camaro replays on Road Atlanta on the straight away. The cars quickly accelerate to top speed due to the stock gearbox and race engine upgrades thus they max out and bang the rev-limiter for around 12 full seconds as they go down the straight.

Usually if you have an ill-suited tune and bang the rev meter for 2 or 3 seconds you're leaving a good chunk of time on the track but these cars dominate despite rev-banging for more than half the straight.

Apparantly there are a couple of cars that the community are saying have been missed by this update though, those being:

Lotus 2-eleven (R3 Class)
Ford RS 1800 (A Class)
2010 Renault Clio (A Class) FWD with Megane RS 250 engine and no camshaft upgrade

These cars are also supposed to have an unfair advantage as well:
