Did anyone see this last night on Channel 4??

Just when I thought TV couldn't hit a new low, they release this!

Admittedly I couldn't help but laugh at a few of the lines. The Tourettes guy unleashing classics such as ' SHE'S A SQUIRTER!'

' SHE'S A SQUIRTER!'

Good luck taking him home to meet the parents.

His date should be admired.

He calls her a 5lut, she adjusts her hair and says "Thanks" :) handled it really well.

Lovely girl too. Hope they work out.

Assburgers lad was just an utter cringe to watch and I found it highly amusing that the short girl in the chair went on the date but actually decided the lad wasn't for her. Think someone has set a high standard.

Theres one girl in a chair who is actually quite pretty. Surprised she struggles to get a date wheel chair or not.

It isn't something I'd watch but Mrs Eddscott watches these types of programs and I couldn't help but pick up on a few bits.

I have Abergers it's not stopped me from doing what I do. They aren't freaks just people. These days a guy seems to be wating a plastic, fake barbie instead of someone for true love.

The aspergers guy had a few other issues going on i think!

Came to the same conclusion, as soon as she saw the guys wheel chair her face was as if someone had just slapped her. I got the impression she thought she was better than him.

The tourettes guy was class though! :D

To clarify: I personally am not calling these people freaks. I'm saying that the majority of people watching something like this are doing so to laugh at the people that they are regarding as freaks.

See also: That godawful gypsy wedding program.

Yep, it's particuarly annoying when they dress up such trash as being intelligent. For example they had one programme of 'where will evolution take us' which was essentially 'LOOK AT US EAT RANK THINGS'.

The guy with Asbergers is such a legend.

First, he eats her food which is genius, and then on the second first date he has, he flexes his muscles like a pro, love him.

It did feel like a bit of a sinful pleasure watching this show, as it was structured to make you laugh at them, even though you know it's wrong. Of course it could have been a lot different if they had been offering the people involved genuine help with dating.

The guy with Asbergers for example, he seemed like he would be fine if he was just given some guidance. He needs help with letting go from his mother, some tips on etiquette, as eating his date's chip was funny until he started eating the whole plate! Also half a can of deodorant is really not necessary once you are older than 13.

I actually used to know somebody quite similar to him who also had a voice that had never broken, so he sounded like a young boy. What stopped him meeting anyone tended to be his habits and hobbies more than anything, he was into things like keeping pigeons, which is on par with CB radios.

The girl who sometimes used a wheelchair I couldn't work out. At the start of the show they demonstrated that she was an aerial artist, which given that she's broken every bone in her body but two is probably not a wise sport to be involved with. But fair play to her if it's something she loves and goes through the pain for. She clearly wanted to date somebody who wasn't also disabled, the reality of which in this world is probably a tough ask.

With the Tourettes guy, I hope he continued to date her. She was quite pretty though and part of me does wonder how much she was just loving the attention of being on TV, not to mention if she refused a second date wouldn't reflect well on her.

Make mine a Cafre Lantern!

The aspergers guy definitely had me cringing the most. The whole ' distracting her and stealing a bit of food for banter' worked fine, but it was like watching a car crash as he went back for more....and more.....................and more! Followed by ' I'm eating your dinner!' as if it was endearing. Very awkward viewing!

The guy with tourettes seemed a genuinely nice guy, though some of the tourettes induced outbursts were so obscure I couldn't help but laugh!

Program wise this was a bit meh. I was expecting them to be giving more help.

That said it was difficult not to laugh and I have grown up knowing people with learning difficulties etc.

The guy with Tourettes was interesting actually. When he was with the girl his outbursts, at least in the cuts they showed, almost stopped. She also seemed genuinely interested and very bubbly. I thought they were great together. Pretty cool I thought.

Felt genuinely sorry for the guy with the messed up face, he actually seemed to have a good personality.

I enjoyed seeing into the life of the chap with Tourettes - what an incredible individual he was; performing stand up comedy is such a feat anyway, let alone putting himself infront of an audience when he knows his condition isn't controllable.

He acted just how I imagine so many of us would want to act if we were in his shoes, yet so many in reality would actually shy away. Good luck to him - I don't think he'll have as much trouble finding a date as the program was making out.

The Aspergers chap was a little bit car-crash television - this is essentially what Ricky Gervais makes a living from, sadly it was presented to us from more of a 'point and laugh' view. I found his mother to be more irritating than him!

Good on the girl with Osteoporosis, unlike some of the views in this thread suggesting she should be grateful for any date, why should she have to lower her standards due to her condition?

I hate to suggest this, but I really can't see it lasting. The swearing and ticcing will go back to normal as he's currently trying to suppress them and finding it hard work. There's only so many times she'll be called a fat ****, etc, and out in public she may just find it too embarassing, humiliating and uncomfortable to bear. Plus her friends will think she's nuts. Who in their right mind would go with someone with tourettes? I don't think she realises what she's taking on.

He's not actually calling her names though - the outbursts are a result of his condition, not just him you exclaim whatever he's really thinking uncontrollably.

Not everybody is so shallow :)

I think what he's getting at is the girl would need to be someone who genuinely doesn't give a **** what others think about him/her. There's not many about like that these days.
