Proposals to block porn access in the UK!

There's no way to identify most pornographic material. It would only work if every person in the world voluntarily marked every website and image/video uploaded as adult. Ridiculously ineffectual policy.

Pornography is the least objectional kind of content on the internet that you want to protect kids from anyway

I don't see a problem with it. We've quite rightly had restrictions on physical pornographic materials for decades, I don't see how porn on the internet is any different.

It's completely incomparable, you're comparing censorship at the retailer level to the government level. It's like locking people in their homes rather than telling retailers not to sell porn to under 18's.

The Pirate Bay is blocked?

Some stupid ISP's in Holland, including mine ( ironically the only in my area that offers 120 mb internet, or anything over 40 mb anyhow) have lost a case against Brein and now they have to block TPB and some other sites.

Still works with TOR though.

Must be pretty slow through Tor though?

Nah.

You only need to fire off a search/click the magnets.

TPB don't track anymore anyway. Once you have the torrent loaded let DHT and other trackers do it. You do not need to download via TOR....infact it is highly frowned upon to use TOR for such heavy bandwidth usage scenarios.

Urgh, another one of these?

Surely the government should focus on bringing Britain's networks up to the standards of other developed nations before starting to filter it? Or is this an attempt to reduce 90% of the traffic so they don't have to? :D

I think this government is fairly anti-porn so that's probably why.

Thats laughable considering Liam Fox was caught going caso with a batty boy, and most Tory toffs likely dress up as Nazis and get spanked by busty Swedish transvestites called 'Ingrid the Punisher' on weekends.

I call hypocritical shenanigans.

Also lest we forget Osbourne and his cocaine whip my ass sessions

and I don't include the libs in this as being liberasl I can;t see why they'd agrre to that, espceially as clegg claims to have smashed 30 pasties in his bakery career !!!

Finally! a use for the 32 TB's i have stored up!

lmao, if this passes it wont last long as said previously people will find work arounds.

Somebody think of the children!
Who actually gives a **** about their kids watching it? As long as they are of a reasonable age then I wouldn't have a care in the world.
Over protective parents are the worst thing in society at the moment. It's really the responsibility of parents to look after their network when it gets to their router, not the ISP.

This. Especially since the majority of parents are morons anyway.

Who was that woman that got told off because she spent her EXPENSES on a Porn Dvd, was it Harriet harmen? can't remember

THEY MAY TAKE OUR FREEDOM BUT THEY'LL NEVER TAKE OUR PORN!

..or something like that. :p

edit: grudas, excellent .gif ! :D

Orange network provider does this by default anyway for 3G phones and internet sticks. I couldn't care less for pr0n but I do like reading Dramatica (now on .se domain) which is included in the block. Just go into your Orange account, a few clicks and you're done.
