Home Office website taken down by Anonymous

Seems a bit pointless, besides it being a weekend and Easter, no one really cares about the Home-Office portal.....all the actual sites within are fine and what does this really accomplish.

Protests that don't affect large sections of society are a waste of time and ineffective.

People protest by effecting the public and then the public get annoyed, people then protest by not effecting the public and say it's pointless.
I agree with anonymous, these new snooping proposals are outrageous. People have the right to be annoyed.

I agree that the 'snooping' proposals are outrageous, but not that anonymous taking down the portal is affecting the public or effective.....it may get people talking, but they were doing that anyway.

Seems a bit of a pointless exercise, they may have been better using their time in other ways or bringing down something that people actually care about.

It's no surprise that these types of "attacks" are getting more and more common, as no-one in power seems to listen to what the people are saying anymore.

And seeing as Joe public around the world can't even peacefully protest anymore without being kettled, moved or sprayed with something - it looks like the only way to retaliate is by electronic methods.

Not much you can bring down that people will care about, there's not a forum for politicians :D. It would be good if they actually did physical protests like they used but I don't think they are as collective as they used to be.
I am quite annoyed as I have found out the government have some even more incredibly ridiculous laws and have failed to respond to public pressure but I posted that in another thread :D.

At least a website that people might actually use......it needn't be a Governmental site or even an internet portal of any kind......hacking into infrastructure systems or something similar?

Easier said that done and the minute they do this they would be regarded as terrorists and held indefinitely.
This government is flipping useless.

Anonymous should just **** with the data interception servers or however it's done.

As said on a certain radio4 comedy show, these new measures will only catch the most cretinous terrorists, those who use a method of communication that is easily and obviously traceable and recorded by government agencies. Seriously, are these people ****ing morons? Don't they see that these new measures are infact worse than useless? Get the **** of my emails and stop looking at my frankly bizarre surfing habits you bunch of ****ing numpties. Christ, I thought it was Labour who were meant to invade the publics privacy?

**** sake, it seems they just get these ideas in their heads, and then nothing will do other than push them through for no apparent reason. I don't believe the government it out to keep the populous down, only because there is no benefit on doing so, it's just ****ing nupties who's egos wont let them drop a **** idea.
