Do extra terrestrials exist? If so...

Do you believe in extra terrestials/aliens? If so why? or Why do you not believe?

Yes, i believe.

you got better odds with there actually being intelligent life out there, than not being out there.

And i don't agree with the "if you don't belive in god you can't belive in ET's" that is far from logical... but each to there own

Of course there is life out there! I also believe there are different layers/levels of reality and we can only perceive a small portion of what there is, in the same way a dog can hear a sound that is out of our frequency range and there are possibly other 'entities' on other planes of existence.

Perhaps ET's can move between these different layers and all angels, demons, god(s), fairies, ghosts, poltergeists and aliens are all the same thing - entities existing in a different frequency range to us.

I think our current understanding of reality and the universe will be laughed at in the future and compared to when people thought the earth was flat and the sun revolved around it!

"I can well imagine an atheist's last words: 'White, white! L-L-Love! My God!'-and the deathbed leap of faith. Whereas the agnostic, if he stays true to his reasonable self, if he stays beholden to dry, yeastless factuality, might try to explain the warm light bathing him by saying, 'Possibly a f-f-failing oxygenation of the b-b-brain,' and, to the very end, lack imagination and miss the better story."

Being a fence sitter is so boring isn't it?

Being a fence sitter does not mean not striving to imagine, explore or explain.
So no, that statement isn't at all correct.

Any position can be closed minded and any can be open minded.

I would be more likely to utter....."My God, Its full of Stars......"

Oh, and Life of PI......:)

Ok was going to make a thread on this subject myself as I find it very interesting, for a kick off I beleive there is ET life out there somewhere but I cant find any concrete proof that they have come here.

if anyone can post any footage that hasnt being proven as fake it would be most interesting, there is loads on Youtube etc.

Here's one I cant explain, I believe these are man made of course but find it interesting as there is no obvious propulsion system like a propellor or jet engine.

There's lots if places that could contain propulsion on that video. For a start there's an object on either side of the "wings". Could be centre of the tail section. Could be totally fake, could be such poor resolution you can't make out the detail.

It would be very arrogant to believe we are the only living organism in the entire universe. I have no doubt that "life" exists out there but not as we know it.

As for little green/grey/one eyed/glowing finger men visiting us - I doubt it.

I think you need to read the book that nitefly has quoted.....it may give you a different perspective.....

There is almost certainly other intelligent life in the universe, but as the universe is infinitely big, it may take an infinite time for it to reach us, or us to reach it.

I was about to say that was where the quote was from. Did you end up reading it? :)

I think it has to some extent changed my thoughts and feelings about these sorts of issues.... didn't expect that

I am reading it right now, which is why I recognised the quote....it is a thought provoking book.

That's the one. I picked it up (a newer edition) for £2 in a HMV :)

Ah, I'm glad because I was sure it would be right up your alley. It's one of those where at the end you go 'OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooh!'... not going to ruin it for you though :p

Enjoy :)

I believe there is other life out there, that's less and more intelligent than us.

The fact that we're here now is proof to that. So if we can exist from space dust, then so can other things else where in this infinite void.

Except pretty much all theories say the universe is finite. So then it cones down to how probable life and then intelligent life is.

Perhaps we are the first to make it this far?

Also, on the reptilian threat. Personally I think there's a lot of technology out there that's not known (even to governments), and it's probably man made.

I'm an avid watcher of the Ancient Aliens series and they are on about 408 now.
There is absolutely nothing on there that will ever make me believe that Aliens have visited Earth although I love listening to the nonsense.
I think 407 was about Sasquatch and the Yeti and how they believe they are Aliens or made with Alien DNA technology.
I always like how they say that some of the most ancient buildings liek the pyramids must have had Aliens helping them.
Fraid not, for one it took the Egyptians 1000s of years to perfect the Pyramid and even Cheops pyramid was in danger of falling down and anybody who has ever stood by the pyramids will notice they are basically thrown up using all shapes and sizes of blocks.
They really are a mess to look at.
Machu Picchu is another good one for Ancient Alien theorists but I just look at it and think that if Aliens built it they must be **** and live in caves back home.

I believe that there is life out there somewhere but it looks nothing like us and it has never been near us.

And Mods, suspend anybody who links a picture to Giorgio.
