Are there a group of people on OcUK who play together? Really need some others to play with as my only other friend(who plays this :p) is bloody nocturnal.

Restarting the client should fix it.

Guy used a vortex to suck the whole team onto a rock most of us could'nt leave, and proceeded to destroy out ancient. I know its beta, but its griefing. Tried to get a TP scroll from the courier but they killed it.

Pretty sure this isn't a bug, believe you can do it in DotA.

Been trying out a lot more heroes the past few days. Just played with Husker and really enjoyed it. Was nice getting a few kills early on while in middle lane. Then later on with a few nice items he becomes really powerful. When I got the armlet then later satanic, it was easy to get kills. Also a nice touch healing team :)

It is a very good idea to play all the heroes and understand how they work. Now that I played probably one third of the hero's, I find it much easier as I know what their strengths and weaknesses are.

Here is how I felt about the hero's I tried:

Really enjoyed: Husker, Ursa and Viper.
Enjoyed: Axe, Bounty Hunter, Lycanthrope, Lina, Razor and Sniper.
Did not enjoy: Morphling, Pudge, Tiny and Windrunner.

I also played with Zeus my first game, but don't remember much, so need to play him again.

Any recommendations based on that list to try next? :D

Shame you didn't enjoy Pudge / Windrunner, they are both super fun once you get used to how they play. I love playing Pudge just because his comments are hilarious :D And landing clutch hooks makes you feel like Dendi lol.

Any reliable source of getting a beta key? Have been signed up for it since it opened but no luck. Really starting to consider buying one but don't really know where to look - unless of course there is a kind soul here that has a spare key going ;)

Just had the most fun game of Dota2 to date. Teams were somewhat even, at the start the kills were similar, but at most times we had 1 or 2 kills more. That is until I done my jungling and killed Roshan and started ganking :P

Never got so many kills before. Most before was like 8-9. lol. As long as you don't die a lot and buy right item's, Ursa becomes, well... a BEAST! lol
You can't see it in the picture below as I had dropped an item to make space for aegis, but I had the sword that makes you invisible for a while (sorry I forget item names, still new to this). That worked a treat. Go invisible, get close, the hammer item would stun the pray most likely which = certain death :D

Here is the stats at the end:

I can see this game getting very addictive and time consuming. It is a very good game. If you are someone who liked demigod, but could not stand the lack of players/netcode, try this game out. It is a bit more complex, but you get used to it after while. I know if I continue I am just gona get more sucked in. So I have decided to stop playing now after that awesome game I just had.

This account was lent to me by the right honorable gentleman Kamwah. Top guy. Only managed to play one proper game with him, as he is not on the times I am and vice versa. I think it is fair that the account be borrowed to someone who plays more so at night.

Thanks again Kamwah, and to MumboJumbo who gave me tips. Never know, might end up buying the game when it comes out anyways and joining you guys. But right now I have other things I need to concentrate on.

I was failing hard so to prevent feeding I went jungling and got a blink dagger, and took it from there. I had 14 assists and with the role of "initiator" I guess I did well in the end. However with a bit of practice this earth shaker can spell certain doom by putting a rock formation across enemy's retreat.

Here is were my blink dagger bearly saved me:

Looks like a good game you had there, shadow blade is the name of the item you are looking for. Ursa with a shadow blade in a pub game without wards is probably pretty devastating I imagine. There is a new item that was introduced recently, I've forgotten it's name, but it might well be perfect for ursa. It's active is a 40% slow (I think) which lasts for 5 seconds and It gives you intel and health, and lots of it. The main benefit of it for ursa would be the health and slow though. That way people really can't escape you, though I'm unsure if you have that problem anyway, I don't play ursa like I said.

And no worries, if you end up buying the game I shall likely end up seeing you around. I too have taken a break from dota2.

Decided to just jump in and buy a key off ebay for 20 dollars.

Installing now, can't wait to try it tonight :D

Just some friendly info. It may seem hard at the start and people might be a bit rude if you die a lot, or maybe I should say when you die a lot assuming you have not played a moba style game before :p

Don't take any notice. It will take at least 10 games before you start getting the hang of it. More like 50 before you stop becoming a noob.

I highly recommend dotafire.com, they have some nice guides there. Have fun.

Don't forget to play against bots first and watch some of purge's videos, it will improve your game a lot quicker than trying to figure it out your self. He also talks about item choices early game, which is crucial. I also can't recommend dotafire enough, though be weary later when you get into the game more that many of the guides are old and haven't kept up to date with patch changes.

I'm a Dota 1 vet and have been playing LoL for a year or so now so I'm hoping I won't be too bad, but thanks for the heads up. Hoping the community is a bit better than LoL's but I highly doubt that's the case xD

Never played LoL and Dota 2 is my first go at a moba.

I can confirm that the vast majority of the community on Dota 2 are not very nice people.

It's put me off playing until the ranking system is introduced properly. The games seem to be filled with people who think they are a lot better at it than they actually are.
