Toothpaste Recommendation!

People don't want fluoride because of its adverse affects on the brain... How much the content in toothpaste will affect you I don't know. I'm not stating this as fact as I have not done any research into the subject what so ever. I just know it is the reason people do not want fluoride in their toothpaste.

I think it might be people only reading half of what they think they are reading.
Fluroide facilitating the absorption of aluminium across the blood brain barrier, might be why they think they don't want fluoride.

Anyway. People can think what they like.
Advice is to use a fluroide toothpaste, as part of a healthy diet with limited sugar frequencies during the course of a day.

In truth, if you consume less than three sugar frequencies daily, then you probably don't need fluoride in your toothpaste. The issue is the mentalist folks who spent their days reading the whats bad for me forums and various 'health' sites often do so while stuffing their faces with fermentable carbohydrate foodstuffs.
Then with big holes in their teeth, as they probably refused radiographs to aid early diagnosis, tell the dentist the fillings are poison too, yet have taken no steps to avoid a completely preventable disease.

Anyway, won't help them with gum disease, you need to be brushing, you need to kill off as many bugs as possible. Avoid smoking and the like.

I just use what ever is purchased :p but we don't get cheap rubbish, we have recently been using that stuff in a can which foams up, I love it, the container lasts much more than a tube! a bit like shaving foam, you can squeeze loads more out of it even when its empty.

Whilst we are on the subject, does anyone know where I can buy them spongy things that dentist use in your mouth, I think its to stop you closing your mouth, tastes weird but very nice?

:p

Oh it hasn't changed at all :D

None of this fake minty flavouring nonsense either!

Not a toothpaste for those who can't handle a bit of fire in their mouth :p

Sure you do, the dentist give them to you, they shove em in your gob whilst doing dental work sometimes. Taste like a weird mix between banana and something else. Quite spongy

Can someone expand further please.
Is it a butterfly sponge?
I really am totally unsure what you are talking about.

Very frightening
Not the conclusions, but the fact half that research took place.
Seems mostly chinese in origin, from the team paid by the anti- fluoride lobby group by the water providers.
Certain chinese regions were going to fluoridate water supplies, the owners of the companies produced cpertain batches of research, including dissected aborted fetuses to discredit the use of fluoride and thus save profits.

That US based site seems very happy to quote mainly dodgy chinese research.
Anyway toothpaste isnt for ingestion, and the research is all, based around very high fluorosis style water table contamination.
Its comparing chalk and cheese.

I think he might mean these:

They put them in between your lip and gum. I assume to soak excess saliva and keep your lip away from where they are working. They dont taste of anything to me though. Unless there are flavoured ones they use for kids and 'special' people :p.

They used to have flavoured ones which were really nice :p

TBH I dont know why I mentioned them in this thread :p

My brother (a dentist) has told me that there is only one brand that contains some chemical approved by some association.

I pretty sure it was colgate, willing to stand corrected though.

What a useful post :o

Ask your brother for more information. I'd happily spend tons on toothpaste, but I'm sticking to Colgate Total because all the expensive ones make me think fads and frauds.
