Hey Guys,

This was originally posted by Gimpymoo in the Dark Souls PC thread but I think it would get more attention (that it needs!) out in a new thread!

So Dark Souls will be using GFWL (well, planned so far) and this has caused a bit of an uproar due to GFWL being a pain for a lot of people.

So please take a look and sign this: http://www.change.org/petitions/namco-bandai-and-from-software-release-dark-souls-pc-edition-without-games-for-windows-live#

Even if you won't be getting it/don't mind GFWL I think you should sign, as this game would be better for everyone on another service and would also benefit the sales :)

Only the people who have issues voice this. All the people it works great for do not come online and praise it. Same with everything, look over on Steam and the amount of threads that say:

"DO NOT BUY THIS GAME"

Just because said game does not work for them.
 
You are very lucky if GFWL is not a complete nightmare for you though, games that have been a real pain for me due to GFWL- Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, Bioshock 2, GTA iv(patched it out), Red Faction(gave up as it wouldn't even start!)

And that is just off the top of my head, looking at my desktop.
 
From Software/Namco are probably questioning why they even bothered now if all they're going to get from this venture is a bunch of ungrateful PC gamers.

I'm not going to sign the petition because I'm just glad this game is coming to PC. I'm also by no means a fan of GFWL, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over its inclusion and would never dream of boycotting a game I wanted because of it.

Ungrateful? I think not.

People just want to be able to play the game they have wanted on PC since release, GFWL will prevent many people from doing that due to it's mass of problems.
 
I hate GFWL, but I'd rather the game came out on PC using that service than not come out on PC at all.
I do think it's terrible, but you can ALWAYS get it working in the end.

They are not a bunch of modders doing this part time, they are doing it to make money and I would be expected to pay for it.

Hm if it does end up on it, of course I will be disappointed etc. and have to bare with it, but having excessive problems with games while using the service (like previously) will end up driving me away like before :(

I just think if the community voices their opinion to them (like with it actually coming to PC) hopefully they will take into account and try and resolve the problem. After all, these are the same people who wanted to see it on PC anyway! :p
 
I don't see how GFWL would drive you away from the actual game, it doesn't effect the gameplay at all. I am playing 2 games right now with GFWL and the actual service doesn't effect my in game experience apart from seeing a achievement pop up from time to time.
 
i dont see the problem with it using GFWL either, sure its not ideal but its far from the worst thing ever invented like some like to claim, these internet demonstrations are getting old fast.
 
GFWL just seems like one of those things where there is a vocal minority, and because it's Microsoft (or 'Micro$haft' as idiots know them by) a lot of people jump on the bandwagon even though they've either;

A) Never had an issue with GFWL
B) Had an issue but solved it through 20 seconds of google searching or
C) Never even encountered GFWL.

Seeing as it's a XBL enabled game they may as well reuse the code & give it to us sooner.

Some people like me it may not even affect gameplay, because it won't even let you start the game!
