Guild Wars 2

Starting from the Beta event at the end of the month though, the stress test going on atm is still under NDA.

From what I've read, beta testers are not able to join this stress test at all even though they were sent the e-mail informing about this test. It's actually pre-order people with no beta access that have currently access to log in. And even though the test is supposed to be under NDA, those pre-order people have not signed any NDA so.. in theory they can say anything they want right now and the people who were supposed to be in the test are under NDA, and can't even log in.

That explains why I haven't seen a lot of people online! Because the only way for people who weren't invited (pre-purchasers) to download the client was from people posting the gw2.exe who actually were invited and had access to the forum for a few hours.

Bit of a fail right now isn't it!

Ah, that must be why I can't log in, I got the download from someone who wasn't invited even though I was a pre-purchaser. :(

Hmm, I'm pretty sure the .exe is universal so it doesn't matter how it was acquired as long as it's the correct one? The one I got was from the GW2 Reddit forum which was posted by someone who was invited to the stress test and had access to the forum for a bit.

So maybe your gw2.exe is an old one... I don't know dude, I managed to log in on first attempt.

Should I upload and post up the gw2.exe that works for me? :o

/didn't sign any NDA y0

Try this, place it in your GW2 directory and run it and cross your fingers

P.S. I wouldn't be surprised if its extended considering invitees are having lots of problems :p I've only seen a handful of players

If you are part of the stress test: a) you are not allowed to talk about it. b)having issues is normal. That's why it is a test. Discussing it in public is a violation of the NDA. Therefore, we're not doing it here. ~RB2"

Anyone with a Play.com pre-order know anything about if they have a clue that they're meant to be sending out codes? It's been 'awaiting stock' on my order for days :(

Well thats not right as I had to sign an NDA, once when registering for the client, and again before making a character.

It also has my email plastered all over the screen.

I wasn't in the Beta, but have pre-ordered.

I don't see how an NDA would stand up in a court of law though. Free speech is a human right isn't it.

how would they know it was u or whoever that broke nda? unless ArenaNet have secret members reading this forum and hacking into your pc to find our ip address to see if it matches your gw2 account. i cant see how

and nda is a legally binding contract. anet have said if they catch anyone their accounts will be removed (all anet game accounts) im sure. If it went further they could sue for damages quite easily?

why do you think the email address was watermarked all over the game for? Thats how they find you out...

Yeah I have the same, really annoying. I will keep it on pre-order though as it is the cheapest as far as I know. If they announce the first beta and this still hasn't shipped I may be tempted to cancel and get it online.

So what you're saying is, if you sign an NDA contract you give up your basic human right to free speech and are subject to prosecution?
