Guild Wars 2

Bloody hell, stop being stupid. It's a legally binding contract that you agree to sign therefore if your stupid enough to break that agreement they have every right to sue you.

Just like if you work for apple you have to sign a non disclosure agreement subject to termination of your contract if you breach it.

Or working in the government and signing the official secrets act.

At the end of the day you sign it therefore its your responsibility.

sorry but you sound liek a wind up merchant. teh typical bitter person who trolls every gw2 thread on the net looking for people who are talking about the beta and reporting them to ArenaNet just because you are a bitter person.

Very tempted to bin my Play pre-order and go with one of the other two...

Asked play when they'd be dispatching and got a useless copy + paste response of "we will be restocking this product within 28 days".

I know people have begun to recieve Zavii keys, are Amazon dispatching as well? As they're both £50, is it even worth bothering with retail? I guess I could cut out the middleman and go straight through the site?

Go straight to buy.guildwars2. I did. Why bother with all the hassle.

For a long time I used play.com exclusively then I don't know maybe 3 years ago their reliability started to deteriorate and just got worse, where now I will never use them, think the last 3 mmo games I bought from them all went wrong, late delivery. no codes no pre-order promise bonus items, they will say any thing to get the sale.

I bought the DD version from GW2 and got code instantly!

Now its just the guessing game as to when beta events will start, and will this game come out before or after TsW.

I rarely buy from play either and I am really tempted just to cancel this too and buy online. I thought saving £10 might be worth it, but then again £50 is probably worth it anyway.

Lmao don't be silly. I'm not trolling just explaining why it isn't a breach of human rights. If you read what I actually wrote you would see that I am not actually commenting on any breach of the NDA as frankly I couldn't care...in fact id like to hear more about the game as I'm truly looking forward to it. Hence there's no chance ill be taking the time and effort to report people as I actually wish to hear more about the game and anyone that does report people needs to get over themselves in my opinion.

All I was replying to was the guy saying the NDA was a breach of human rights which is a retarded comment when you agree to it before hand. Stop trying to put connotations in what people say that simply are not there.

So er... the office is a good show.

Just to clear up the NDA thing, any contract is legally binding. Anything that's in it has to be adhered to unless a term of the contract is in breach of law (e.g. you signed a contract agreeing to buy something illegal, not sure what would be in an NDA that would be a breach of law though even as an example?).

There's no such thing as freedom of speech (especially in law). Try voicing racist opinions, swearing, supporting terrorism etc etc publically and see how free you really are to say what you want. When you end up in court with a public disturbance order, I don't think the judge will accept "I have freedom of speech don't I?"

There's nothing forcing you to agree to the contract, it's totally optional. If you don't agree with it, the freedom you get to use is to walk away. If you release details that ANet can prove has cost them money, you could be held liable. The chances of them taking someone to court is slim because the court costs would be far more than the loss of a video going up. They could ban your account with no problem though and any threats they make are potentially enforcable.

I managed to snag my pre purchase GW2 from Amazon for £42.20 when they first listed it a few days ago, glad I did as they have revised the price to £49.99.

OK, then under that same reasoning of it's a "binding contract"
Why can't I then go down to Africa and sign me up some slaves?

Free speech is a basic human right isn't it?

And BTW, I'm not saying this to encourage people break their NDA's.

It's an agreement, you don't have to agree to it if you don't like the terms.

Simples.

ahh ok maybe i was refereing to someone else who earlier on said how u should not breech NDA and your accoutn gets banned blah blah

That's what I did but went direct, also kinda glad I cancelled because it wouldn't have let me have a go at yesterdays event if I did not.

It happens a lot now with etailers and especially play/game, they send codes late and you miss things, someone must realise by now all these people cancelling and should get their **** in gear, guess not, seems they would rather be slackers, great sense of keeping customers eh?

I would go with buying direct from ANet but I like to have a physical box to put on my shelf, I know there's nothing in it but hey. This and the fact that Play is £10 cheaper is why I went with play but I just hope they don't mess people around.
I agree with your thoughts on their reliability, they used to be great!

Yeah. Done this now, wish I'd done it before to get on the event. :o

Won't be using play again in a hurry. Useless.

I have to say, I had read exactly one GW2 article and knew nothing about the game before this week but I decided to dig deeper into details available right now and after few hours of hyping myself, bought a pre-purchase copy. I have managed to resist all MMOs since Warhammer Online but all the little (and large) things GW2 does different were enough to convince myself. Originally my main motivation was the 'no monthly fees' argument but that's the last thing on my mind right now, I just want to get the beta asap :)

It doesn't happen often but this time I managed to find a cheaper copy from Finnish e-tailer than abroad. 37.40€ to be exact, around £31.

Are you sure it's a pre-purchase copy and not just a pre-order? You'll have to see if it's on the GW2 website :) That sounds very cheap.

Yep, people have already got their pre-order copies from the shop I ordered from and they have all the beta information on the product page. Just have to wait and see if they get enough stock again before the first beta weekend starts.

any chance of a l;ink tot he store mate?
I've not ordered my copy yet

Is it safe to say if you go direct you'll get the key pretty much straight away? As like many I'm with play to try and shave £10, but considering going direct to save on heartache! :)
