Much like most MMO's it's only for dungeons and personal story's. The normal world though is open unlike GW1.

From all the footage shown I haven't seen things like Districts. The wide world seems to be shared with everyone on your server.

I think some of the personal story quests are instanced though, but that's understandable if they only relate to your character. You can actually team with people and go on their personal story instances.

I am assuming Play.com dont charge your credit card when you pre-purchase as I am thinking of cancelling with them and ordering directly from GW2?

Nope, you can just cancel the order on your accounts page.

*EDIT* Bought it myself from GMG with 10% off , key and download instructions is on screen straight away. Good stuff.

Apparently with some Mcdonalds meals you have a chance to win £5 off play which would make it even cheaper, might be worth a try
