*** Pictures of things we bought in April 2012 ***

lmao yes....now imagine the whole place in a similar theme....the tiles in the kitchen are orange :o

HAHA! nice, we had that at our old house, totally convinced the previous tenants were chronic smokers of cuban cigars, the kitchen was orange, 5 coats of paint on the walls and ceiling and it was still coming through :O

Looks very nice Phate :). I'd suggest replacing the window with a decent PVC one to finish the look and make your bathroom warmer.

BTW, what is that you have put down under the floor tiles?

Worrying isn't it?

Heres how my bedroom was - http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hpho...414900261_814305260_22471801_1909118188_n.jpg

Here is how it is now - http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hpho...9283000261_814305260_23092174_461052986_n.jpg

Also got a replacement wardrobe and fitted a new blind as well, which is posted somewhere in this thread :p

Underlay, moisture resistant stuff from B&Q. One pack for £18 did the whole floor, the tiles are lino self adhesive non slip ones, perfect for bathrooms. When the tiles are done I'll go around the edge with a sealant gun to make sure no water gets through.

Yeah we might get a new window...we've got a blind to go up in there, again a job for this weekend. With the underlay its warmer in there already! It is double glazed that window though...barely has any draft at all to be honest. I replaced the window in my room because I might as well have not had the heating on. Bloody ridiculous.

Nice room, I love those colours. I want a kind of inky blue wall but it's really a massive effort to paint my room, so I'll just have to have an inky blue desktop wallpaper instead (I know your wall isn't inky blue btw)

Thanks, took hours and hours and hours of prep work to get it to that...basically we...

Had a new ceiling with coving fitted.
Stripped the walls to the concrete
Chiseled out 3 new dual plug sockets
Filled in the imperfections and sanded (oooh the sanding), also filled in the holes from where we put new sockets in
Painted the ceiling, 2 coats
Painted the walls, 2 coats
Painted the coving and skirting, again 2 coats
Fitted new floor
Fitted new wardrobe
Stood back and thought 'thank christ for that'

Still, it's worth it...I'll be living here for the foreseeable future so why not make it my own? :) Just man hours, that's all it is. 2 rooms done now! :D Kitchen being done at the end of May. Look out for next months thread or possibly June :)

Should have bought Carbotech pads :(

Why so? Greenstuff looks pretty cool behind the callipers and also provides slightly better than stock stopping power while not costing much more and having less brake dust deposits!

Never actually posted in any of these thread, but felt the need ;)
Few other bits and pieces, but the one i'm most proud of

Wow that's a hell of a lot of work. It definitely looks like it was worth it, the flooring you've got in your room is superb as well. I wish I had wooden floor in my room.

It wouldn't be that bad for me to do something at home...mainly just painting, but my room's quite big and has large furniture in it which would make it a massive pain...I need to fix the shelves I put up though...one fell down and the others look insecure! Also requires filling, sanding, and painting of the erroneous holes I made. There are a lot of stones in our bricks and they send the drill bit flying!

The flooring was pretty cheap, and easy to do once you got the hang of it :)

I'm hoping to have most of the place if not all of it done for the summer.

THEN ITS HOUSE PARTY TIME :D

Sounds pretty good. I think I'd want to (or my dad would want me to) sand down all the floorboards and varnish them unfortunately.

That was suggested to me, however my Dads gf has that and it's constantly cold in her house, I'm convinced it's due to the floor and she argues that "it's definitely the cheapest way Jake"

Ignoring the fact she now spends a mint heatin her house :p

That looks great Phate, Ive got to redo my room (still living at home ark). Live in the attic - no jokes needed! Was converted when I was 12 im now 24 12 years of teenage wear and tear, a few coats of paint and some new carpet and im hoping for a livable space again!
