ok, so budget is around the £50 but could pos go higher if there are enough benefits.
basically i want it to house as many HDDs as possible, not be overly aggressive with lights and be as quiet as possible. PSU is not essential as the ones that come with cases arent normally very good, but if its there i wont complain.

i looked at both of them, i prefer the way the drives fit in the R3. i know i wont ever fit a big gfx card in it, but it just seems to make more sense to go that way round. also white is nice and clean i think. i can also get it for £62ex vat :) the pic on ocuk show the inside to be black, the pic on the other place shows the inside to be white, aswell as both side panels
the problem is, £30 is a big chunk to take out of a PSU budget, i want it to be as silent as possible as it will be on 24/7.

This is pretty much what I'd buy for a home server case and PSU wise.

that seems too cheap for a decent psu.

It is a good psu :)

the r3 white has white interior, but there is black sound proofing and grommets in it ;)

ok kool, i dont really mind as much about the inside, was more worried about the outside. all white just looks clean.
will that psu like having 7-9 drives attatched to it? and is it quiet?

It's a corsair PSU. It's there bottom of the range kind of spec, but it's just non modular. Corsair PSUs are generally regarded as one of the best (he says whilst running his PC off of two PSUs because the corsair one has gone FUBAR...) no in all seriousness, the PSU I linked is fine, especially for a home server :p

It does only have 4 Sata power connectors, but I'm sure there's a way around that...

mines being done on the cheap as its just a basic media streamer and file storage server.

there were 3 molex so with some sata adapter thats atleast 7 drives if i dont go for splitters, with splitters there is the potential for 10 drives. just scared it might go pop with that many.
