London Marathon Woman dies

If our life expectancy was 35,000 days and our death rate was 1 in 20,000 then you'd see why the original statement is a load of nonsense.

please tell me, how could the average person live for 30,000 days but the average death rate be 1 person every 20,000 days?

Why the **** are people arguing about statistics? Seriously guys, get a grip. Apologies for singling you out SpeedFreak you were just the nearest one to quote.

mind = blown, average life span in days has no baring on daily death rate.

The average death rate in the UK is 1750 odd every day. In 30,000 days 52,500,000 will have died.

I watched a runner die at the Potters Marathon 2000 at the 13 mile point and I slowed down a bit after that.
I didn't actually know he died until I got to 15 miles where St John were.
Not a nice sight although I believe 2 people died watching it (it was a very hot day).

Strange to see that she's a friend of a friend on bookface, for some reason that brings it home a little more.

Awful.

if there was no horse racing or riding there would be no horses in the uk for anything other than sending to france to be eaten same as cows
as mitchell and webb said if polar bears were tasty maybe there would be more of them and they wouldn tbe going extinct
