Yes. They're good and add a lot of gameplay, and a lot of story.

They can usually be picked up for a few quid each in the Steam sales.

HL1, back in the day there was no game that could come close.
TFC and CS 1.6 were addon games that had a large community for 3-5 years, try saying that about any fps game these days.

For me it has to be Counter Strike: Source.

I almost failed my standard grades because all I would do is play this game instead of studying. I passed ... with terrible results.

To this day I still play it with mates and when we all meet up at our yearly LAN it's the longest played game at it. BF3 gave it a good run for it's money this year but it still came out on top. I think the reason we all play it so much is because of the accuracy involved and the net code is fantastic, not to mention one hit kills and the importance of team work.

I may not be that good at it but for the reasons above it is my #1 FPS.

There is 3 isnt there? I deffo have one, pretty sure about 2 aswell

Here here! It's everything I want in a fps today.

I miss fps that are heavily gameplay focussed and more about movement and aiming than unlocks and vehicles.

For pc probably Half Life. Still holds up well today.
For console Timesplitters by some way. Racked up more hours on mutliplayer than any other FPS.
