The silence in the stadium as Torres ran through on goal will make that a footballing moment that will stick with me forever. The way he finished it too helped make the moment.

It would have been sweeter if he just dribbled it into the net. Just imagine that :D

I would have loved to see the reactions and faces of the other 9 barca players, who were inside Chelseas penalty box at the time, when Torres picked up that clearance. You didn't get to see it on TV.

Should have attacked more to put the game to bed not try and hold on for no reason. Would have made the game more exiting instead of parking the bus like pussies and then play the long ball. Also if barca had their shooting boots on, the 3 goals that they scored would not have been enough

They had 10 men. Against Barca. No CB's, no strikers. You're clearly a nonsense.

When they had 11 men, both CB and strikers on the pitch they still had a parked bus, Both this match and the first leg, so stop making up excuses why they played like that.

And they being down to 10 men is only their fault and no one else.

Whats wrong with not knowing that part of the rule. its not like you get to see it everyday ffs. In fact its the first time I have seen it and probably never again

If you had ever played football at any level from age 12 to a pub league or Sunday league you'd know this.

At a corner or similar you'll almost always keep one fast striker right up on the half way line, forcing the opposition to keep at least one if not two defenders back to mark him as otherwise it's trivial to put a ball through and score.

I have played football, but we never had offside rules in the game, since erm it wasn't serious, just a kick about basically. And a lot of people don't know about that rule, just check out various clips on youtube, where people are asking the same questions as me.

Since clearly I didn't know 1 part of the offside rule, I should hang my head in shame and go kill my self.

The amount of angry reaction I got by simply asking 1 questions beggars believe. :p

Whatever people think of Chelsea's gameplan, against either Bayern or Madrid they wouldn't (have to) play like that, at least with 11 men. They'd have more possession and wouldn't need to be defend as deep. If it's Madrid, for example, it could potentially be quite entertaining with 11 vs 11, as Real only completely boss average to gash teams (or when teams have players sent off). Anyone average or better playing them usually results in a fairly good match - they're top of the league, but have won most of their games without the kind of utter dominanace in possession Barca have.

Making excuses? They won? They chose the most effective plan.

I think you're forgetting one thing...

Chelsea are through, Barcelona are out. I bet you won't find a single Chelsea fan that isn't absolutely delighted, and probably still drunk from their celebrations. The Chelsea players did fantastically, and can be proud of themselves.

Also.. LOL at the whole offside rule thing. That did brighten my morning up reading that. :)

Sounded like you were making excuses. I write about how they should have attacked more and the response I get is that they had 10 men etc. Maybe I just didn't understand you, in which case I apologize.

And chelsea's plan wasn't really that effective IMO. Barca shot them self in the foot by wasting golden chances. If Barca had the same efficiency as chelsea in front of goal, it would have been a cricket score, both ties IMO.

I don't think chelsea were even defending that good to be honest in both ties. For me Inter Milan performed much better than chelsea when it comes to defending vs barca.

It's more the fact you've kept digging yourself into a hole and seem to think it's a silly rule, if you'd said 'Ah I see' then said reaction would have been far muted. Nevermind anyway :p

What's your agenda here?

They did win and congratulation to them but to say that they played well and deserved to go to the final is wrong imo. Barca for me were way better and then only reason they didn't go though was become of their poor finishing and bad luck and nothing to do with chelsea defending IMO.

I mean Barca hit the bar 4 times, had a ball cleared of the line, missed a pen, yet people are saying chelsea did fantastically. A fantastic performance is what inter did to barca when they gave almost nothing away and they were also down to 10 men.

Chelsea were more lucky than good IMO.

I do think its a silly rule and always will.
