People who can afford to buy 4 and 5 digit figure bottles of champagne aren't buying it for value though are they?

Sigh. Feel free to drop into the conversation without prior reading.

I posted a while back saying I would still seek value even if I was "too rich".

I do not care for anyone other rich persons opinion of value and their desire for it. That is up to them.

As I've said before I would be happy with the winning the millionare raffle in the Euromillions.

Basically spend £400,000 on flat, car(s) money gifts to family and shove the other £600,000 in a bank with hopefully 5% interest. £30k a year is more than the average wage and would be treated like such. Means living comfortably but still need to save and budget for the really big expendatures.

That is good life. When you have 30k alone coming in each year on interest. Personally I want 50k on interest. Then you can really enjoy life with 2 holidays each year, cars, house in Surrey, clay shooting on weekend. Having 4 hot girlfriends and playing long hours online without a care on kick ass system.

Sorry but I wasn't that clear. The 30k wouldn't be the only income, I'd also carry on working. Then if I have a partner it's 3incomes into one house.

I would also give homeless persons some money to rent a flat for a year, set up a program to get them into education or better yet, into jobs.

If I was a billionaire I'd use my money to better the lives of some people who are less fortunate than me. Not talking about homeless druggies and the like, I mean build shelters and give food or something to people who actually need it. There's no need for anyone to have billions in their bank.

If I had a ludicrous amount of money, I'd just go up to random people on the street, and hand them wads of like, 20k or whatever.

People you don't know, who are just going about their business. Just think how much you could brighten up their lives.

Same. But people like you and me are in the minority. I'd also probably set up a charitable organisation with my family and friends and spend most of my time travelling and finding good causes to help instead of giving money to charity, so I know where it's actually going.

Orphanages, schools, wells for clean water, employing rangers to protect national parks against poachers and loggers. You know the drill.

I wouldn't as I haven't got the pallet to taste the different between a £30 bottle and one 1000x more expensive. If I had that sort of disposable income, I'd make my own charity and keep myself busy with it ensuring that people who need help get it. Helping youngsters sort their life out or help victims of domestic abuse would feel far better than drinking a bottle of insanely high priced champagne.

Due to that, I'd say being "too rich" is probably true as these people appear self absorbed compared to joe public.

To use an example, one of the rich ruling family in the arab emirates had his name (HAMAD) dug into his own private island so it can be seen from space. There no word on how much it cost as it would have been ridiculous, yet its 2.5km across and 1km wide and the coordinates are 24.3442, 54.3255
