Guild Wars 2

To be honest..can't you just take this somewhere else? not interested in all this trash in the GW2 thread relating to some other game and situation.

no more posts from me , see you all in GW2.

which i will know very little about as im avoiding reading to much about the game so its all a suprise on release day :D

Arknor you can join multiple guilds in GW2, and if you don't like them leave at any time.

No one is going to be affected negatively from joining a guild.

Awesome, I did not know you could join multiple guilds :D What are the requirements? or can you just join them?

KNOWN ISSUES
Hardware Compatibility

Display: the graphics-settings slider has only a minor impact on performance at this time.
We are currently optimizing Guild Wars 2, making ongoing improvements to the game’s frame rate. Presently, the game is CPU-bound on most high-end systems, so lowering graphics settings or upgrading your video card may not have a large impact on performance.
On older or lower-end machines, it is recommended that you try disabling reflections to improve frame rate.
Installing the game client into the Program Files directory on Windows Vista or Windows 7 can lead to issues with the patching process.
It is advised that you install the game to another folder or launch it as an administrator.
Forcing anti-aliasing through AMD Catalyst™ Control Center or AMD VISION™ Engine Control Center typically results in a black screen when playing. ATI cards that are known to cause the black-screen issue while using the latest drivers (12.3) include:
HD 2900
HD 5770
HD 6970

Windows TDR (Timeout Detection and Recovery) will sometimes restart a user’s graphics drivers if they become unresponsive, resulting in a notification that the graphics driver has been restarted.

Alienware ATI Laptops: the Guild Wars 2 client does not restore properly after being minimized.

Currently, adjusting the core clock speed of the GPU or CPU typically results in lower performance.
It is advised that you leave core clock speeds at factory defaults.

AMD CrossFire™ and NVIDIA® SLI™ are not currently supported.
These features should be disabled while running the game.

Enabling NVIDIA 3D VISION® may cause a crash on some systems.

If you experience a crash while this setting is enabled, it is recommended that you disable it in the NVIDIA Control Panel.

The beta didn't run great on neither of my systems. As the known issues thread on their beta forum says turn down reflections or as I found shadows.

I'm hoping the performance is just a beta issue and won't be there when the game goes live.

TBH the game wasn't so bad I just expected it to be good since they said they want it to be available to as many people as possible.

People have been getting 20 FPS on I5 2500ks with a GTX 680 .....

Obviously the game is Vram hungry and needs at least 4 Gb Vram to run well :D

.... Joking!

The only thing I disliked most was the loading time between waypoints that were quite far from each other. That's with the game sitting on an SSD. I've also set my AV to not scan that folder now!

I dont say much on this thread but have been reading it every day.. When an OCUK guild was mentioned I was thinking that would be cool but now I am getting to the point of wanting to avoid one.

People really need to stop bickering with each other. :P

Doh!

Well in that case i guess playing at 2560x1440 is going to be a bit of a struggle :p

This is all I had to read to know that every one of your posts about Gw / GW2 is now 100% completely invalid and wrong.

Go away and play WoW then, if you think the absolute joke of PVP that it has is better than GW / GW1.

Your attitude stinks, to be honest. You waltz around the GW threads as if you are some arch-authority on it. I played Guild Wars from release and hardcored the hell out of it before any of the booster packs were released. Before I even got into WoW. Who are you to say my opinion is invalid on GW? Especially when I'm discussing the social dynamics and atmospherics, i.e. nothing to do with concrete gameplay. My point about pre-Battlegroup PVP in WoW being better than post-Battlegroup PvP was that everyone knew one another. Hardly a point that carries no analogy or cogency for a GW player, is it?

Get off your high horse mate.

TBH I don't like this idea, I'm maybe a bit of the old school which I know some people find stupid but I believe in guild loyalty. I don't mind if people puts alts in a second guild but as long as the toon the classify as there main must be in ours.

And my view on peoples main always a sticking point, you main is always the toon you play the most, & your first toon, if don't play it.
