What gun is more powerfull?

Depends on the ammo it seems. (talking power)

The 500 can take heavy 700gr bullets while the 460 takes upto 450gr bullents.

Plus it seems obvious that higher caliber ammo can hold more powder no?

It's not all about size, (calibre of the round). It's the kinetic energy it can carry over a given range. The old .50 browning round has held that for a while, but newer rounds such as .338 lapua magnum or .408 cheytac will achieve the same results, but they shoot on a flatter trajectory and offer the same penetration on human targets. The .50 bmg is still very useful as an anti material rifle, it can be used at long range to take out aircraft/helicopters or important equipment. But being a very old round id say it's days are numbered for anti personnel use.

Power is based on the amount of kinetic energy a round can deliver at the target, normally measured in llbs per foot. The .50bmg round is a big heavy bullet, at long range it tends to drop. Whereas the .408 and .338 lapua magnum are slightly smaller, therefore they fly faster and maintain a straighter trajectory. Which means they can hit a target with more force. Off course bullet weight (in grains) and powder type used will give different results, but power isnt really a word id associate with ballistics.

Grizzly Mark V in .50AE, know nothing about guns but this is some serious muzzle flash. What it does the other end just aint worth thinking about.

You know when reporters ask people who knew the killer who'd just gone on a murder spree on an American campus or shopping mall if they'd any idea that this could happen and they reply, "Yeah, I always thought there was something wrong with him, you know, not quite right? He was an accident waiting to happen and it's a terrible tragedy that this horrible act ended 42 peoples lives"?

We are those people.
