Guild Wars 2

Ive played enough of the beta now to decide that i liked it. I played a human warrior only to level 7, and watched my brother play a ranger to level 6.
When the game is out ill play a norn warrior and get myself a nice double handed sword:D
 
Of course I want to like the game and want everyone else to like it - I'm dying for a new major MMO to come along and captivate the PC gaming community once again! I don't think it's a matter of merely my own opinion to say that it is under-delivering right now, either. I'm not talking about performance or optimization: I'm talking about core gameplay concepts such as the combat and PvP itself. Has anyone really played much WvWvW and can genuinely say they have enjoyed it? I'm just left a little confused by a game that has marketed and hyped itself so much on a huge zerg.
 
Enjoying it so far. I like the new questing model. So much better than the standard kill 10 of these. Combat feels a little clunky though. I'm used to being able to turn to each side instantly, here you have to a realistic turn. Will get used to it though.
 
Hopefully, WvW will be better once people are organised e.g. battle other servers with a purpose, guilds or battle field leaders, etc.

I fear it may end up being a lot like WAR...Zerg train from one keep to another and avoidance of the enemy in a stand up fight. I really hated that about WAR. People playing a damned PVP game and then deliberately avoiding a good scrap. *sigh*

That and 'off-peak' raiding.

However, hopefully the supply mechanics will address the former point.
 
so trying to get a refund from CJS , do I wait see if they get me a EU key , im thinking they cant as they would not even give the option of a refund hmmm
Hi Mark, Dear Sir,

we are very sorry for this issue. We are currently contacting suppliers regarding the issue and will make sure that you receive the correct region key. We will make sure that you get a fully working key or a full refund, don't worry!
 
Funnily enough I'm actually preferring a Scepter + Shield Guardian over a 2H Sword at least at this level. I can spam off projectiles while moving and avoiding attacks and I have a couple of okay shield skills.
 
I like it but it seems that when fighting groups they all gang up and attack me and there's nothing i can do about it. Probably just me being noob tho. Tbh they said it was going to be hard.. I think most of the negative comments regarding gameplay (button mashing etc) can be attributed to people being noob too.

Guild Wars 2 Beta Access Problem:



We are aware of an issue that some people are having with some particular Guild wars 2 beta keys. As of now, it seems that many thousands of people are having the problem (see the guild wars 2 forums), which suggests this seems to be some kind of game bug. Nevertheless we will be working hard with Guild Wars 2 to resolve the problem and make sure that the problem is to do with the game developer, and not the keys.

We will make sure that all of our customers get exactly what they paid for, or a full refund, don't worry!

The error that customers are getting is the "9:4:5:1093:101" error, which usually means you don't have beta access.

If you didn't get the "Pre-purchase" version of the game with
the right cd-key then you don't get access to the Beta, but this is NOT the case with our keys. We are selling the full version which DOES include the head-start and beta access.

You should have been sent e-mails that you did get into the Beta. This proves that you SHOULD have beta access, and the problem lies with guild wars 2 developers, not our keys.

Guild wars 2 are also aware of the download button in account.guildwars2.com being greyed out / unavailable. Here’s a link to full download and installation instructions:

Finally, Guild Wars 2 developers are also experiencing problems with the log-in system, so if you get an error code when trying to log in, please be patient and they should have it fixed shortly.












Guild Wars 2 USA Region Problem:

CJS CD Keys source their keys directly from NCSoft. There is no choice between EU/USA Region. All keys are the uni-region as there is just one type of key. Nevertheless, please send us your affected key and we will forward it to NCSoft, in order to help solve your problem and get it changed to the correct region if necessary. Our supplier stated that right now, Guild Wars 2 developers are suffering problems with their log-in system, which means that customers cannot log into their accounts in order to select the correct region. Once you can properly log in you will be able to switch to the correct region.

For our first Beta Weekend Event (April 27-29), home-world selection and world transfers will work just as they will when Guild Wars 2 launches.
When you log in to the game for the first time, you will have the opportunity to pick any available server, or home world. If you choose to select a home world that is in a different region from where you purchased your game, you will be logged out for a for a short period of time while your account is moved to your new region. Once you have selected a home world, all the characters you create will play on this world and will represent it in our world-versus-world (WvW) format.

The armor skins in this game looks really dull, i take it is done that way to entice people to buy from the cash shop?

I need to read up about the cash shop, not really sure how it works, but one question i will ask, is everything from the cash shop available to buy with in-game game currency?

What a crock of *****

Arenanet have stated that American keys are a seperate region to EU keys.

THe links they reference to have nothing to do with the US / EU keys, those are just login issues, the region lock is only apparent if you try and use the cash store.

I bought a cjs key can you clarify where I should be seeing the issue, not understanding the cash store aspect at this point.

go to the cash shop & you wont see UK so cant use it basically , thats the way I understand it
 
On the point of graphics... does anyone else prefer Medium Shaders to the High/Ultra? I hate that crappy sort of shader effect whereby to 'enhance' the graphics it just makes everything on your character look reflective. My Thief, in dark armour, actually glows white when I have Shaders set to High/Ultra! It's ridiculous. It makes every character look laminated.
 
Bring up character menu (H). Click bottom tab with two-crossed swords (PvP Menu). Click 'Enter Mists'. Go into PvP mists and there is a portal at the end of it that takes you out to Lion's Arch. Take portal out and load Lion's Arch. Right next to the spot where you load into the town are other portals: one for each home-base and one for the middle Battlegrounds. Take your pick :)
 
Just recieved an email back from Cj's which basically echoes the above :

"Hi sir, please contact ncsoft support and they will help you get it swapped to EU region"

And then what looks like some kind of copy and paste from their Twitter account rambling on about the same thing.
