really want a 3570k, just need to see if my motherboard supports it, but it doesn't say that it's compatible on the asus site :(

God damn it, they are so close to sandybridge prices, would I be mental to consider a 2700k over the 3770k?

:D

Gibbo - Honestly 2700k or 3770k? I want to overclock but am wondering whether to be a new tech adopter or stick with tried and tested sb?

Thanks :)

PS I hope these prices will be the same in the morning, just got back from Plymouth and am too tired to order sensibly ;)

Ordered a 3770k and a few sticks of Samsung green from OCUK :)

Will be sticking it in an MSI Z77A-GD55... Under an H100, hoping to reach 4.8 stable, although will be happy with 4.5

Waiting on a review of the new KFA ltd ed card to decide what 680 to get.

Also picked up 6x 3TB hdds to refresh the home server that'll be receiving my old q6600... Which'll be back from 3.6 - 2.4 since the first time I got it so many years ago... That's awesome longevity for a chip... I still didn't need the feel to upgrade in anything except battlefield 3

Please give me a helpful answer ;)

Considering they're the same price, the only reason to consider the 2700k above the 3770k would be if the 2700k is better. If that were true, it'd mean Intel created a WORSE chip over a year after releasing the 2700k.

But simply, the reasons you should get the 3770k are: It's consistently faster, It's iGPU is MUCH stronger, It's got lower power consumption, It has more features including PCI 3. and for the same price.
