Guild Wars 2

I registered my key with my account 6 days ago and I still dont have a link from them to download, any ideas?

Thanks

I am a player who don't mind using voice coms, but if i don't have to use it then i wont.

I don't mind talking to other players etc to get a hard objective done, but what i find is that you get caught up in the game much more when you use VOIP, at least for me. I find that if i use VOIP and i am enjoying the company i tend to have stupidly long game sessions where as if i didn't use VOIP i play in a more casual relaxed manner which i prefer.

This time around when i play Guild Wars 2 i will be taking on the more casual style as i am getting to old for this ****. :p

what question? that is the point. you thank people for what? Dont u know how to use the quote button?

Now imagine if i wrote this post without quoting. people will be wondering wtf are you on about just like i was wondering about your post.

LEARN how to quote please

So all this hostility because I forgot to use the quote button?! :(

Must be hard going through life getting so upset over such things. Would it really have been that hard to just ignore what I said and move on?

On topic:

I only like VOIP if I'm playing with mates and others I know. Otherwise its all a bit formal and I'd rather play casually at that point. But that's just me.

LOL who said i was upset:D

All i said was "uhh" i.e indicating on what the hell you was talking about. a simple reply stating you was thanking member A for answering question B would have been sufficient(Still scratching my head on who you was thanking LOL).

Well, I'll say this much: the character creator was heaps of fun :D

I made a Norn and spent an hour making her gorgeous. Then I made a Human, and spent an hour making her gorgeous ;)

I only actually spent about two hours playing the human starting area, but had a good bit of fun doing so :)

7 years of guild wars, 3 years of DDO, never needed to speak into a mic.

You dont liek speaking down a mic/phone though and gw1 can be practically played all on your own.

gw2 is a whole new game homie.

Anyways for me i love VOIP especially with like minded folks who can have a joke and a laugh because end of the day we are playing games to have fun and part of teh fun is chatting to other gamers being serious and also having a laugh making jokes etc.

Fun stuff

I've only ever used voice comms if I really have to in Raids etc but prefer listening to instructions with one main leader. Speaking of gaming in general I find using it a chore, even with mates it distracts me from what I'm doing more than anything and I can touch type so not really needed for me 95% of the time.

Also (and this might just be me), unless there is something specific that needs talking/sorting in the game I tend to run out of things to say and feel like a total melon. I'm not one to banter on about what I'm killing and what spell I have just cast.

I can't play MMO's without being on Mumble and Teamspeak with my mates, i don't know why but the games just seem more tedious. If i am having a laugh, chatting about rubbish etc time seems to pass a lot quicker as does leveling. Also if im not talking i am always listening to music, with my Mumble on in the background.

I can't say i ever used to be like this when i first started playing MMO's, but if you have a good group of mates it makes everything you play that more enjoyable.

I'd turn down particle effects if I could. They get crazy in big fights and are one of the serious causes of low FPS in big team combat.

Spell effects are meant to get toned down automatically. The way I understand it you always see your character's spell effects in full. However, other character's FX are meant to be toned down to avoid the sparkly blindness scenario and slow down.

I know that in the couple of small scale fights i got into things got a tad confusing. Another case of something not yet implemented or switched off this OBWE?

Well I requested a refund from CJS keys, and they simply referred me to their information page full of inaccuracies:

http://www.cjs-games.com/support/view.php

So I got annoyed and replied with an opened can of whoop ass:

Hi, please take a second look at the Guild Wars 2 forum post from Gaile Gray that you refer to as she has updated the thread with more information:

https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/support/account/Item-Shop-US/page/1#post63197

Gaile gray:

I should clarify: A display error will be corrected. The fact that you’re seeing the gem Store with a currency different from your own may point to a fraudulent-acquired code. I think you are wise to want to check that out.

Also consider that EU customers who purchased GW2 from Zavvi / Play / NCsoft were able to set up an EU billing address during the open beta for the in game cash store. Only EU customers that purchased from CJS keys were unable to do this, and their billing options were limited to US region countries only.

I have opened a new thread on the Guild Wars 2 forum asking specifically about CJS keys here, you may be interested in looking into it:

https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/for...-I-bought-is-not-legitimate/page/1#post122868

Arenanet have specifically stated that there are seperate US and EU regions for Guild Wars 2 keys, not just a single region as CJS keys are falsely claiming:

http://www.guildwarsinsider.com/arenanet-guild-wars-2-client-region-locked/

As already mentioned, I have specifically asked on the Guild Wars 2 forum in a new thread for them to look into these issues.

If Arenanet can confirm that the keys you sold were valid EU region keys provided by NCsoft / Arenanet that is completely fine. However if Arenanet state that they did not provide you with these keys, and that they are not valid EU region keys, then you will have to refund them all.

I think it would be in CJS key's best interests to also contact Arenanet / NCsoft directly to try and get this issue resolved quicker, if the keys are legitimate EU region keys provided to you by Arenanet / NCsoft, then you have nothing to lose other than gaining confirmation of this directly from them.

Good luck CJS keys, Arenanet had better verify that they are the providers of your keys, and that they are EU region ..... Neither of which seem to be true at this point.

Hey. I joined this forum a while ago cause i always looked at it, but never got involved with discussions, but guild wars requires me to ask peoples opinions, so sorry if intruding.
So, did anyone find the ele really over powered? they just seemed a really solid all round class. Also note, I didn't get the time to use other professions, so any thoughts on this?

Ellys arent overpowered, they are very squishy but have a high damage output. As long as you never get hit they are a good class to try, but definitely still challenging to play. They have a lot of CC spells available to prevent getting hit, but with high cooldowns so you need to be careful, e.g. Sceptre / Focus Air attunement gets to access to blinding flash and gale which is a very powerful combo if fightning single enemies, especially when fighting a single melee boss. The blind lets you save a dodge use by causing the next attack to miss, and gale pushes away and knockdowns the foe, while arc lighting and lightning surge are very powerful single target DPS.

I just typically like the wizard / sorcerer type classes the most in RPGs, and the elementalist is the closest thing to that for me, and I dont really enjoy minion classes as much. I also like the Mesmer, but mainly tested the elly over the weekend.
