some posts from Gaile Gray, seems they can change your incorrect code if you get a replacement... might grab a refund from CJS now.

Please contact that seller, make them aware of their error. Please do not accept the excuse that “ArenaNet made the error” because that is patently untrue. We did not send the wrong codes; we did not give European vendors US codes to sell — that’s just not what happened.
sorry but it does seem like that to me and im sure the others of us that find us in the situation that we bought what was sold as a eu key i had no way of knowing that the key i was sold wasnt a eu key so if the retailer says that he did sell me a eu key and wont give us the proper code in your words you expect us to pay twice for the game if thats the case you have left me with a very nasty tase in my mouth i expected more from you
Obviously, those who have done something shady, or even those who recognize they made an error — for instance, they didn’t think about the regional aspects of the codes — would prefer to point to us and say “They did it” rather than own up to the mistake they made.
But again, the issue is with the seller, and it’s the seller with whom you should deal.
There is no way for a customer to tell what kind of key he has. (This is for various reasons, including security reasons.) If you want to check your key, you can contact Support.
If you get a replacement code from you vendor, or get a refund and buy from an authorized retailer (or our website) Support can help you with changing your old (voided) code for one that works for you.
