Lost my Dog

Thanks for all the kind words everyone, I'm just so sad.

I am thinking about trying to harvest his sperm and freeze it so that we can have his puppies later on.

I also feel bad for my brother but at the same time I am just so upset with him!

Sorry to hear this mate, gutted for you

I had to out my cat down (yes, a cat!) and even though im 33 and we only had him a year, its still about the most upsetting memory I have. Madness, but really had an impact on us.

I always try to think about the good life we gave him, and that helps.

Im thinking about taking him to a taxidermist, is that strange?

Yes and no.

If its your family, I.e. daughter, you wouldn't do that...

But people do do this so they remember their pets.

Then again, it's like something out of a movie. Guests come over, see picture of cute dog, "yeah he passed away a a couple of years ago".

/guests walk to another room, sees dog.

"I see you got a new dog, wait, oh."

Personally I would get another puppy somewhere down the line, may be too soon now but I wouldn't stuff him and display him like a orniment.

Sorry to hear this House, losing a pet especially a dog is always tough. Just remember the good times.

For the record, taxidermist not really a great idea.

I can't even imagine what I would be like if it was my dog, they really are amazing animals, sorry for your loss :(

ok so I have spoken to my old university and they may try and harvest the sperm for me. luckily i thought of this as soon as he died and put him in a Ice box last night.
