Had a lovely surprise today

A cheque for £1500, well £1497.49 to be precise from Hm revenue & customs.

It came totally unexpected. here i am satring at all these nice new tuning parts i want for my rx, and now this comes along at the perfect time. Totally unexpected.

Makes a nice change because all my letters are "we're taking this, that and the other out your bank today"

got mine last year almost £800, which was my overpayment before I left blighty. They even tracked me down and sent it to my US address.

I got one for £270 from over paid tax from 8 years ago, why they waited 8 years I don't know.

Dont spend it yet as my father-in-law had a 1k cheque off of them, then, 4 months later they sent him a bill for £900!!!!

Without the interest they owe you.... Funny that when you haven't paid them enough they want interest on it though....

Wow, nice service for a change. Mine didn't come from malta though lol. Return addresses on both envelopes were glasgow and sussex.

I did think this, but what would the consequence be if they did ask for it back? Would it be a "we want it all back by this date" or would they accept installments?

What kind of envelope did it come in? Got some letters come through but left them at home.
