Guild Wars 2

Im still waiting for NCsoft to reply about switching my keys, 2 full days and no response yet

I made it easy by sending all the information they would need in one email, old key number to remove, new key number to apply, and a screenshot of my direct purchase receipt and paypal transaction.

So all they have to do is remove the old key and apply the new for me, once they bother to read the email.

I wonder how many e-mails they must be getting.

Have you tried sending the info directly to ArenaNet too?

Yeah, I submitted a ticket 3 days ago asking if my key from CJS was a legit EU one or not, still waiting for a reply. I appreciate they're probably inundated with tickets from the beta weekend but 3 days to reply is stretching it a bit tbh.

they aren't the fastest support around, took them 2 and a half weeks to fix a problem i had with a cd key for guild wars 1

Wonder how big their staffing team is at the moment. Well the side that deals with customer queries for GW2 anyway, it's not exactly a department you would want too many staff in at the moment but they must have had a bucket load of questions after this beta.

Write them a physical letter.
Add hair clippings

It took them 5 days to reply about my question regarding CJS keys being switched to EU ones. I even updated them with what all of us did, yet they still answered the previous question and not the updated new one.

This is what i got...

"Hello v1bez,

We are in the process of investigating this issue for you and you should receive an update as soon as we have more information to provide. We may need more time if you contacted us on a weekend or holiday, but someone will respond to this support ticket as soon as possible.

Thank you,
NCsoft Account Support"

That was on the 2nd of May after 5 days of waiting, fast forward 3 days later and still no update or even an answer and that is for my old question which has been made redundant now as we have got refunds.

My new one asks if they can remove my key, so i can purchase it via their site and instantly link it. I stated i wouldn't buy another copy until it was done, not to mess them around but so i don't have to be messed around contacting them to get it added.

Well when she messaged me, she didn't sound very sure that they could.

"Support can replace keys, yes."

"I should be clearer: Support can do that eventually. Not yet, they don’t have the tools, but in the future, yes."

As you can see, she didn't really know herself.

Hence why i've asked support, if they can then they can remove it then i'll buy it and add it like i did the first time. I don't want to do that via support aswell as to be honest they are useless at the moment and the game isn't even out. I hope they are not like this at release as there will be a lot more support issues and it may take weeks to get a reply! :)

That's one issue with f2p model (which I think even you have acknowledged bhavv) is that the customer service compared to a paying MMO is poor at best.

can't be much worse than tor support. Took them two weeks to respond to a ticket. Of course, it's probably better now that no one plays it any more.

G4cE, OrionTC is clearly being a Troll, when the industry as a whole and hundreds or even thousands of people saying nothing but good about GW2, he's either one of a very small minority who just dont like it or anything else for that matter or he's just saying it to get a reaction.

Having played MMO's for the best part of 15 years almost, GW2 was the first in a long long time to give me that same butterflies in the tummy feeling as DAoC did when i first ventured into the frontier with fellow guildies a decade ago.

The key issue is not NCsoft's problem, you guys, unless totally stupid (therefore still your own fault), bought your keys from a resale site (in effect buying them up in one country to sell in a different, making money from the currency exchange difference) so you should have been well aware that it could end up being region locked. I would doubt that Ncsoft will fix this, as the keys they sold and you guys bought (2nd hand) were sold correctly.

Well yeah it is our fault for buying cheaper keys, but in the end we have followed their advice and got refunds and have purchased via their official site. It's not that we are complaining about our keys, it's at how shoddy the support is with their vague answers.

I waited 5 days for a message saying they were looking into it, with no actual answer saying i need to wait longer for an actual reply. I had already updated the question a day before they replied stating that i no longer needed clarification about keys but just for mine to be removed from my account so i could link my new key.

It is now another 3 soon be be 4 days on top of that and im still waiting for any reply answering my question. So all in all it's 7 almot 8 days i've been waiting and i haven't even had a reply via my first question, which i've asked to be ignored and to help me with updated problem.

I thought TOR support was bad taking 3 weeks to sort a problem out for me, but GW2 is support is right behind at the moment. I hope it is improved by release, otherwise you could wait weeks for problems to be sorted.

There was even a post on the support forum of a lady who bought the game and got charged twice and it took her 3 weeks to get a refund. That is just poor in my opinion.

I didn't have a problem with GW1 support, NCSoft was always quick to answer and i'd normally have my problem resolved 24 hours later bar the odd occasion that it took 48hours.

I wouldn't say that GW1 support was rubbish, it might not have had the numbers of WoW playing but it was the 2nd biggest game after it.

NcSoft's support was much better, quick to answer, very helpful and overall nice to deal with. It doesn't look like NcSoft are doing the support this time, it'll probably be an in house GW2 team doing it.

I don't think this is necessarily true, not everyone with a complaint is a 'troll', that's just facile. Many people have actually commented on certain aspects of the combat that need work; others have, as you point out, outright said they don't like it (because of limitation/repetition, or whatever). But he's not simply 'trolling' just because he didn't share your fevered excitement. I've been killing for another butterflies-in-the-stomach MMO for years now and GW2 didn't entirely give me that feeling, either. Just saying, there can be proper reasons for this :)
