Guild Wars 2

Favourite video game... ever... made? After a weekend? :p

It's nice they are putting all these small hidden gems in the game. But then again they have been designing it for so many years! I'm sure they've had many a slow, bored day in the office where they decide to make a hidden area or a puzzle or an easter-egg just for fun! Haha.

I love it when they have random hidden areas in the world, great touch which makes it more interactive and gives a reason to explore.

They have never said that. In fact they said quite the opposite.

Actually they have :)

In my opinion PvP wise it can easily become the most competitive and succesful MMO (as long as they do add a observer mode as GW 1).

As for PvE it has potential but without seeing the higher level zones and the content they offer its hard to judge yet. As shown with SWTOR keeping people interested at higher to max levels is important and if they want to hold onto a similar sized player base as WoW it is even more important.

It's the problem any new game has these days they have to have a large amount to do at endgame from the off or a lot of players they are trying to attract to the game will go back to wow simply because there is a lot more to do.

Does it look better in the flesh?

As in the videos I've seen the graphics look very poor in comparison to Tera

The art style is amazing but from last Beta it was a bit hit and miss with some textures looking slightly low res especially in the environment and others such as armour looking great.

I thought the graphics were not great too TBH and the useless excuse about the average PC is rubbish thats why they have slider scales.

Tho Graphics are not the be end of all games, but they have a much bigger impact on games than people think or even admit (it was one of the reasons I could not get into WaR)

Good example take LotRo, can run on any dual core PC fine even runs OK on a a old Intel 3.0ghtz single core PC, but on a high end PC with all the bells and whistles on the game is absolutely stunning, and even tho I am really looking forward to playing GW2, I think the graphics could be a lot better, and may well be (tho doubt it). But the game did not look bad, so will not effect me I guess, I just wish they could make it look at least to the equivalent of a 5 year old game.

Having played around with the cash store the only "advantage" anyone can really have is a 50% increase to experience gained from kills. Even then its not a "power" increase.

When you consider that kills give on average 15xp each thats hardly a massive advantage when it takes 10,000+ xp per level, a bulk of that is gained from DE's and Heart Quests.

Personally LotRo brought back memories of playing my Atari STe. Awful graphics. So bad I stopped playing shortly after starting.

You must have had a very very poor PC. Its still the only game I have played where running water actually looked like water!

He says directly...

But then says he want's to beat WoW. Contradicting himself I guess :/

wow really and I mean the term wow is in OMG (yeh i got to use the word omg :D), since when does beating = killing well not in my universe, so unless the 2 words mean something different in yours there is no contradictions what so ever

LOTRO very foolishly lets you start playing while it's still streaming the client, so your initial play experience looks absolutely rubbish, because they download lo-res textures to get you going. I've never understood why they do it, people take one look at it and unintstall. Give it time and you get this :

I never said they want to a "WoW killer" someone else did. I was pointing out they said WoW will only kill itself however they still state they want to beta WoW.
