I use Chrome and IE.

Frankly I hate the minimalist approach they have gone down.. with menu's it's generally easy to find options you haven't used before, but with all this minimalist stuff trying to find options is a flippin' nightmare sometimes.

as long as you are using a late version 8 or 9 IE is fine. Its no less secure but it is slower.

any website worth viewing will working anything ie8+ or at least degrade to a usable level.

Chrome, mostly for the speed and synchronisation features.
Firefox, when Chrome lets me down.
Opera, when both of the above have let me down.

Firefox in windows and Safari on m mac

Just really am embarrassed that IE has its own advert when its built into the os :( just seems a bit desperate.

I use firefox, the missus uses chrome, and i use opera on my tablet.

The only thing IE gets used for is download firefox on a new build

For me, IE9 > Chrome > Opera > FF > IE8 and older.

At Uni they have IE7 installed so I use Chrome on those machines, after using IE9 you can never go back to the old versions, they feel woefully slow.

As an aside, I tried Windows 8 CP the other day, and IE10 was absolutely amazingly fast. Very very impressive.

I do love the sheep and their IE hate though. I'm waiting for OpethDisciple to pop in with his "OMG IE SUCKS, OMG IE IS **** OMG YOU SUCK 4 USIN IT LOLZ".

I've used Opera since 2003. Even then in was fast at rendering web pages and had tabbed browsing. It has its bad moments with compatibility but I've got so use it that I can't change to anything else now.

I used Opera for ages, but it had so many issues with certain scripts that I had to switch to Firefox. I couldn't even use Hotmail, terribly unfortunate because it's hands-down the most aesthetically pleasing browser around.

I used to be a big FF fan - now it just feels slower than IE and I believe it is in the reviews I've read. Furthermore, IE's anti-tracking and anti-phishing control works better, certainly combined with decent internet security.

I think for a change MS have started to sort their game out. Rather than bloat my PC with 3rd party software - I'm quite happy with IE9 and even the 64 bit version of it works brilliantly!

However, on the netbook that I use I use chrome as it's more lightweight and simpler, it's no better - but for just a basic browser it's great for a low powered machine.

I completely understand why people like firefox et al. However, I just don't need all the functionality and add ons. I have the dictionary add on for IE9 and that's pretty much all I need. Also it's laziness... cannot be bothered in using another one - and I've got so used to IE9 now, and it's features that it would be too much of a pain to get used to another browser! :o
