Disillusionment, along with Germany. The Euro Zone will be tested over the next few months on just how far the credit lines will go and the markets reaction tomorrow will be interesting.

I do remember reading an article a few months back that the French people wanted to copy the German business and work ethic and develop their businesses and work force to becoming a 'world player' again, is this something you've experienced working/living in France? Or is it no different to the UK in which some want more opportunities and some want more handouts?

I agree with this, but it's disheartening to see how ineffectual, corrupt and stupid the majority of British politicians seem to be. They are deemed to be out of touch with the general public and more interested in lining their own pockets and setting up a cushy private sector position at the end of their tenure than doing what they were elected to do.

We've a lot to learn from the French in terms of public relation to politics, they're all well aware of whats going on as you can see with a 70% turn out (and that's considered 'meh'). I'd like to know why you'd consider a seriousness with politics is a joke, pray tell.

Got any links to that? The French have always been very pro-immigration and 'liberal' since the days of Imperialism, with the rise in popularity of Le-Pen there's clearly a disillusionment among the populace of immigration but is it as simple as you're implying?

Being serious in modern day politics when your choices are the same no matter who you choose, is admitting you are a moron.

Its not about democracy, its such a farce when its just a front for the local oligarchy, a self defending joke on the lower classes, making them feel "important".

I remember a documentary not to long ago (i think it was Theroux or someone) about the immigrants that live in Paris, as well as about the riots in 2005 and there impacts...unfortunately i cannot find it.

Either way it seemed like it wasn't getting any better and Sarkozy was just ignoring the issue, which naturally doesn't end up being the best idea.

Again you deflect because you are unable to substantiate anything to support you 'fraud' argument. Once more you show the silly approach of the conspiracy theorist, lots of misdirection, questioning everything, contrary views to the accepted beliefs but no reasoned argument, just disagreement with common opinion from the self appointed standpoint as the insightful one who is not as foolish as 'you accepters'.

I suggest you stop trying to elevate yourself above certain people because they don't want to listen to you or believe your arguments are little more than the wild musings of someone who is unable to support his standpoint with facts yet has spent too much time listening to those who listen to him. Such arguments make you sound childish and just because people won't engage with you does not substantiate your argument.

Your postings elsewhere show you have a strong view on 'life' but I personally believe you still have a lot of learning to do and will look back in 20 years and say "what was I thinking with all this crappy conspiracy rubbish".

As if there was any doubt, the use of the term 'Sheeple' really suggests the almost delusional detachment from reality so present in conspiracy believing deviants everywhere....

Back on the topic, this will be really interesting. Let's see how well France can borrow it's way out of a debt crisis...

I think you're right - especially as I feel Merkel won't be a fan of Hollande's politics either. The last thing France needs is more left wing government.

France could learn a lot from Germany's work and business and ethic - frankly a lot of France's workforce could do with a kick up the arse, but that's the problem with the heavily unionised industry that it is.

You have a conversation with the majority of French people and they are actively interested and involved in politics, that's why things change in |France and things get done, because people have a passion for it.
