Alright, i've ordered 7970 and i5-3570K
Ordered the card becouse i loved how it looks, came with backplate, more bus than 680, and 3gig ram

I was hoping for a decent performance. Under load its over 60 with good cooling case.

At stock, under official unigine 3.0 settings it did only: 1692.
After OCing it to 1100/5800 i got it up to: 1901

Why is the performance so terrible?

Running pci 3.0, 120mhz refresh and latest drivers for ME8 bios and cpu. Also drivers for the card are latest, 12.4 i believe

I really thought it would be better than this, as most people with 7970's get above 2000 mark, with ease i thought

Anyone has any input on this? Hopefully 7970 owners

Not sure if I'm on the right track but most would bench at 60Hz, wouldn't 120 take more resources? Bench apples to apples :). If I'm wrong please ignore :)

I think refresh rate doesnt really matter, but then again, thats at a guess. Seems like the card is going back, not what i expected

I'd check your settings first, just to make sure you're not running extra AA or higher level tesselation than the scores you are comparing to, also check your resolution and perhaps other benchmarks.

What i also noticed is that in unigine every 3 or so seconds there is lag like, its not smooth as silk. As if someone is pausing/resume very quickly. Image is still going but its slow like. God.. honestly, wtf

To get 2400 in that bench I need to be running at around 1330/7600.

To get it there I need to be running high volts and under water.

So your score sounds about right ?

besty is you unigine smooth tho? or has a bit of lag now and then?

even battlefield 3 is not lag free, which it should be, disabled bloom thing, still isnt

Something wrong with your system/card.

I only have a 7850 and Heaven is smooth at those settings for me (no lag every few seconds or anything), and BF3 is as smooth as a babies bottom.

Your 7970 should be tearing through them.

At high OC, on the first run it will micro-stutter at some stages as it loads textures.

If you do multiple runs I find this reduces, its the same with other games/benches.

Try doing some runs without overclocking the ram, just the GPU. Once stable then raise the RAM clocks.

My card running at your O/C setting (1100/5800) at 1920 by 1080 with Tessellation set to normal and Anisotropy at 4x

I get

FPS:75.9

Scores:1911

Min FPS:33.2

Max FPS:163.5

Even at stock, it shouldnt be lagging, somethign is deffo wrong

Thats what i mean, and thats what ****es me off. I had no problem running nvidia 580 nor 560 ti. Previous card i had, 7950 asus DC2 had the same thing. I am well confused

He's running 4xAA as well.

Are you running any monitoring software?

Lots of people who had stuttering found that uninstalling 'Asus Gamer OSD' fixed it right up.

I not seeing lagging in games or unigine on my MSI card and was fine when I had the ASUS 7970 DC2 TOP card.

Are you using MSI afterburner or the ASUS software to overclock your card?

If I increase my O/C to 1150/1875 at 1920 by 1080 with Tessellation set to normal and Anisotropy at 4x

I get

FPS:82.5

Scores:2078

Min FPS:35.1

Max FPS:180.8
