Okay just got this. The online is broken; sound is just............ awful, drop outs, silence and then the odd sound coming in. WTF; this makes it unplayable. How could they release a game in this state.

It is truly awful.

Hoping that it improves with connection. I had green bars against some one in germany but the same problem existed, plus some frame drop outs. Streetfighter IV and the AE worked perfect. Why is this such a FU?

Sound issues you are reporting are a side effect of the game's new netcode, xbox and ps3 had the same deal on release, can find out bit more on shoryuken. Far as i know the consoles got patch to fix the side effects and would have thought the PC would have the patch as well... gg capcom

It's the way this game is designed since it uses a different netcode than SFIV/AE.

It really is stupid, but unfortunately, just have to put up with it until Capcom gets off their arse and releases a patch to fix it, which going by their previous efforts, will probably take forever.

AE2012 on the PC took like 4 months or so after the console versions.

Thats funny I have been playing since yesterday & it works perfectly for me much faster loading that the older SF4 game as as well. Most likely you do not have Open NAT + UPNP enabled on your router. I had several matches against players from Germany, USA, Russia all were perfect with no lag.

So far I am very impressed with what Capcom have done its the best fighting game I have ever seen so many options so much to do & so smooth FPS wise.

Terrific game IMO :D

UPNP enabled - have just checked. when you say Open Nat; do you mean ports forwarded?

I have a Netgear DG834GT.

You noticed that when the bench your PC on it, the more FPS you have, the faster it goes.. Good job they lock it at 60fps then during matches.

Follow this guide:
http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Netgear/DG834GT/Games_for_Windows_-_LIVE.htm

Also run this tool it diagnoses your Router for UPNP + Open NAT some NAT cone types prevent decent online play in Steam/GFWL (Strict NAT/Moderate NAT usually).
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/using/tools/igd/default.mspxn

Also make sure you set matchmaking to find the best match for your region & never have any file sharing programs open at the same time either as they overload most Routers & change the NAT status on the fly or block UPNP as most Routers cannot handle more than 200 simultaneous open connections at once so the Router usually goes into a mode which means it needs a hard power off/reset to work properly again !!

I love the simple but effective DRM on this game as well ;) GFWL + SSA with no activation limits or disk checks (after install keep the DVD in safe place for reinstalls only but you can even copy/paste the game folder as it has no DRM on that either) whatsoever you register the game serial number as you sign-in with your gamertag (make sure you never change that!!) the game then lets you change all the options/GEMS setup & saves this data so if you ever go to another PC just backup the SFTK folder under My Documents area on your OS drive & you can take it to another PC as long as you use the same gamertag that is the only DRM here. No activation whatsoever just a simple 1 time sign-in & register the serial to the gamertag.

Thats all takes about 5 secs max!!

What, doesn't GFWL just work without any of that mucking around? I'm shocked ;)
It does if you configured your router one time only but Steam is no different look at the FAQ Valve have on that it needs similar router config to work properly otherwise you get kicked from games/servers etc etc ;)

Game plays perfectly fine online, no lag myself.

It's just the annoying online play rollback/missing sound playback glitch that is the main problem.

This PC port is just the same as the pre-patched release console version, and knowing Capcom's schedule, it's probably going to take a while until we are on par with those versions.

Also...,If you have the problem described above then it cannot be playing 'perfectly fine' online for you as it is a sympton of online play.

The sound not syncing is jarring; I play pretty much in silence..
